| Ant repellent and other tips. We live out in the country and it seems that every year ants manage to find their way into our home. We had a little ant invasion yesterday so I did some research for 'natural ant repellent' on the internet. One suggestion was to sprinkle cinnamon around the area where the ants are coming in so I tried that and it worked.....no more ants. I just sprinkled it along the base board. Anyway, I thought I would share the two websites with you that I found to having some interesting information. I hate using any kind of chemicals around my house so if these work it will be great. | Thank you for sharing this info. I always have leftover cinnamon from Christmas baking projects and I'm going to try using it on my deck. |

| Another thing that works is to spread cornmeal around their trail. They eat it and take this back to their nest and since they can't digest it, they die.

| Thanks for the information....we had ants here a few weeks ago and they were driving Trixie nuts (I think she might have eaten a few ).....glad to know if the ants show up again I can just sprinkle a little cinnimon on the door area (hopefully Trixie doesn't think it is just added flavoring for the ants!)

| That is interesting. I wonder if you drop cornmeal on ant mounds if that would work to kill them? I thought the one tip about just putting dry laundry detergent on the mounds was interesting. Here in Texas the fire ants are horrible. We are constantly fighting them. Luckily the ants that invaded our house yesterday were not fire ants. |
