| I bought PetPlan. Depending on the coverage you get it's a different monthly plan. I bought 100% coverage which is $30 a month, but I think it's worth it. Especially if they need vaccines and neutering/spaying and general health problems. I did a lot of research and liked this one the best. I'm sure if you googled pet insurance you could find the right plan for you and your baby. The SPCA and Humane Society offer plans too I think, or a discount compared to private vets. |

| I had VPI for almost 2 years before I dropped pet insurance altogether. After Chewie's first vet visit and neutering I was amazed at how much it cost, so I got VPI. The next time he went in for shots, etc. I paid then sent the receipt and all the paperwork in. The bill was $150 and they sent me $30.00. I had purchased the VPI plan that had all the works. A few months after that Chewie had to have tooth surgery because one of his baby teeth was still behind his adult tooth. That was about $200. VPI sent me $0 in return. They said it wasn't covered. I read the fine print on his plan several times. I wrote VPI letters, etc. In my opinion pet insurance may not really be worth it. I paid about $35 a month plus the $120 or so dollars up front for VPI. I then only received $30. |
