| Hi, I'm new and I had a question Well I picked up my yorkie Beau from the breeder and I'm guessing he wasn't used to car rides because he got sick and proceeded to up chuck on me. I expected it and when we got home, he didnt really wanna eat. I fed him some Kibbles n Bits n some luch meat and he went potty twice. He hasn't done number 2 yet so we'll see tomorrow and he pretty much slept the whole day. Is that ( the sleeping and the non-pooping) for a new pup? Any help is appreciated. |

| Hi and welcome to YT! It probably is un-normal. He's had a lot going on in little world. He will probably not eat since his tummy was upset from the car ride. Make sure that he has plenty of fresh water available. Also, do you have nutrical on hand? Just in case he should still not want to eat. You should go to the health and diet section and read up on different types of food. I am not expert but there is a lot of better foods that kibbles and bits. Also be careful of too much things like luncheon meats...hubby give ours little treats here and there and they love it, but the do tend to get a little spoiled when I try to feed them dinner dinner time. He will settle down in a couple of days and be running around like crazy I'm sure. Just give him some time to adjust. Puppies will tend sleep alot. Mine would play, play and play and all of a sudden just decide to lay down and go to sleep, lol. Enjoy the ride and welcome little Beau. Can't wait to see pictures.

| ^ Great advice! Jackson threw up all over the car when I brought him home, too. As did my German Shepherd puppy years ago. I think he was just so nervous, scared. Think about being taken away from all you've ever known in your little life. It's a scary thing. He began warming up once we got him home and he saw my dads other dog. I think it made him more comfortable w/ the other dog there. He didn't really eat much the first night we brought him home. The next morning he ate a lot. Also... Kibbles n' Bits is awful food. What was the breeder feeding him? Keep him on whatever she was feeding so he doesn't get an upset tummy and then you can proceed to switch him to a better food if you like. Some of the better brands you can find at petco are Wellness, Natural Balance and a few others. There's even better foods at smaller speciality- like pet stores like Pet Valu etc.

| Welcome Hi, welcome to YT. My baby did the same thing going home. Have to remember...their scared. You've taken them away from the only family they every knew. Lots of love and TLC works wonders. Kibbles & Bit...BAD !!! My Yorkie is on Innova EVO. Loves it. How old is your baby. I started switching Peanut around 10-12 weeks of age. And it's done in stages. It usually takes about 7-10 days to totally switch them over. Really try not to give any table foods at this age. Their systems aren't made for it. Also, if he's not eating good, make sure you give him a supplement at least once a day. You get it at the pet store in a tube and a squirt along the tip of your finger is sufficient. It helps so they do not get hypoglycemia. I hope he's feeling better soon. Please email if you need any other help. Sheryl, Bartlett, IL...PeanutAnn Mommie |

| Thank you all so much. His pics will be up soon and the breeder was feeding him Kibbles n Bits and IAMS. He said that the dogs love lunchmeat along with apples, carrots and broccilli. He also recommended benebac to hlpe with his stomach and plain yogurt. He just made 10 weeks 2 days ago. |
