| Neutering Hi everyone! My puppy is 5 months old and I plan to get him neutered soon. I was wondering what I should be expecting? I believe he is in the 4-5lbs bracket. I read somewhere that I should expect weight gain? The receptionist told me he'll need to remain calm and be kept on a strict low-activity schedule for 14 days after the surgery. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks y'all! |

| Hi not sure what you should expect as I haven't had Rocky done yet (he's 6 months) but when i called the vet to make an appointment, they said that they recommend waiting til 9 months. |

| The vet will do all the necessary blood work, etc prior to the procedure. And your vet will tell you if he is ready for the procedure or not....my little guy was almost 5 years when I had him done!!!! I asked my vet to use the safest gas (iso?) and the smallest trach tube. Mojo has not gained weight and it has been over a year. Mojo was sooo happy when I picked him up...I got ot get him an hour after surgery (due to the fact that my vet knows me soo well), but expect him to stay over night. Mojo was groggy when I brought him home, but by the next day, he was back to normal. AND the day I picked him up, it was like nothing had happened to him. If you are like me...you worry and then cancel appts..etc...but don't....it is something that really needs to be done.
