| Please forgive us... I am aware that maybe we should have posted this in another location but I am totally freaking out and need advise right away. Our Star is 5 1/2 months old and despite what the breeder told us she appears to be on the smaller side (2 1/2 pounds). I've done several searches here and am a little bit overwelmed. I am looking for a flea and heartworm prevention for little ones. I have found several in large weight ranges but would love your input on any that you use for smaller babies. Please help Last edited by lilmomma; 06-25-2008 at 08:14 AM. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | My vet gave Lola Heartgard Plus. They make one for dogs up to 25 pounds. When I got Lola she was barely 2 pounds and this is what the vet gave us. Not sure about the flea stuff though. Sorry. |

| Thanks for the quick response. Do you use a flea product as well? |

| I have used Revolution for years with great success and no adverse reactions. Revolution takes care of heart worms, fleas, ticks, ear mites, round worms and hook worms. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Nope I give Zoey Brewers Yeast with Garlic Tabs for that and I use a shampoo that the name slips me right now that has natural thing like citronella to also repel them suckers. Works for us.

Cooper is 3.5 lbs and we have been using revolution on him since he was 2 lbs. We have had no problems and no fleas. I like the idea of the heart worm in with it also.

| Lady gets Interceptor. Since there is a 10 pound and under package, it's more appropriate for small dogs IMO. Also, Heartguard is thought to trigger seizures in susceptible dogs and since my Lady is epileptic, I don't want to take a chance. |

| Thanks everyone. My vet told us about Advantage multi but when I contacted Bayer they did not recommend it for her because she is not yet 3 pounds. Thank you so very much for the tip on Revolution. I'll talk to the vet tomorrow. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I use Revolution on all of mine. Maya gets the one for 5-10 lbs and the rest get the one for under 5lbs and puppies. They have all done fine on it and I like that it is topical and covers heartworm and fleas.
