Donating YT 30K Club Member | When Cali had a urinary tract infection the vet said her urine sample had a lot of crystals in it and that was irritating her when they came out. SHe kept licking down there and peeing more than usual. They put her on antibiotics and she was fine after that. Good luck hopefully the vey will fix her right up

| Has your dog been bile acid tested? Crystals in urine is one of the symptoms of MVD or liver shunt...Make sure they test the crystals at the vet's office to find out what KIND they are. It's really important to know this. If they are ammonium urate, this only happens in either dalmations or dogs with liver problems.. That's the worst case scenario... Otherwise, it may be that your baby has a UTI...But uti's are also a symptom of liver problems...I don't want to sound paranoid or scare you, but if my dog were doing this (which he actually did) I would have the vet do a BAT.

| don't delay see another vet if you have to - just to get the right tests done. i just lost my baby yesterday...and i'm devastated. we took him to the vet twice, had a full battery of tests, and all they found were crystals in his pee. he went through two antibiotic treatments, we changed his diet, gave him only purified water...but he's gone now. he had something more and i am devastated. he was only 8. |
