| On the subject of Poo... Just my own observances. You can try Forbid, or any product designed to make poop repulsive, and occasionally those things work well. In my own experience, I have found that when my furkids have too much protein in their diet, that it passes through their digestion partially undigested, so they smell it as more food. What I've done is cut their diet with additions that are low calorie, low protein. Things like green beans, or sweet potato cubes, even carrots. Also, have a stool sample tested for parasites. That has also caused some odd eating habits in my home. Some furkids that come from 'less than stellar' backgrounds, will often eat their stool as a way to keep their area clean. Lastly, some kids love to play with stinky things!! Noselicks to all,

| Mine have always eaten the same kind of food, the older ones eat quite a lot more of it, and yet, this little yorkie is the only one that does this.. I always heard there was something in cooked carrots that was good for them and would help them not to eat it, but, I just forgot about it until I read your post..heck, anything at this point, would be worth a try |

My cat, who was 20 at the time of Wylie's poo eating, had to be given pretty much whatever food she would eat, to keep her weight on. So, we took her OFF the premium stuff and gave her cheaper, lower quality canned food (bc that was what tasted good to her) - THAT was when Wylie wanted her poop! Also, Wy went through a brief stage of eating his own poo - BUT as we made his diet better and better, he no longer wanted his poo. Interestingly, as I've progressed from kibble-feeder, to homecooker, to fish-based diet, to raw feeder - their poops are smaller and NO LONGER smell - and that is because their bodies are using/digesting the protein, not just pooping it out, because it is now in a more bio-available form. Just my own experience w/ the poopies.

| My Benjamin used to eat his poop, I pretty much tried everything with no luck until for different reasons entirely I switched them all to a raw diet, he immediately stopped eating the poop. My vet suggested that the reason behind it is that grains pass through their body mostly undigested so when they poop it actually still smells like like food to them. This would be backed up by the fact that whenever I give him any grains (such as in a treat), he eats the poop again lil stinker. The kibble/wet food poops were big, soft and stinky and he loved them, the raw poops are small, hard and odorless and he doesn't even turn round to sniff them |
