| Natural Balance Question I have switched Lucy over to the Natural Balance Potato and Duck (she won't eat Canadie-I've tried everything). I did so because she was on RC Puppy and so many said it can cause allergies and I'm hoping the new food will help her. My question is, do I leave her on the allergy food forever or once she (hopefully) stops itching do I switch her to something else? OR should I just go ahead and switch her to say, Solid Gold or something of that nature and maybe just being off the RC will take care of the itching?

| Are you sure it's allergies or just dry skin? My Riley had dry, itchy skin when we got him at 4 months and the vet had me get DermCaps from Petsmart. They worked and he stopped scratching within a couple of days. |

| I have all three of mine on the NB Duck and Potato for going on two years now...........not because they have allergies but because I really like their product. If your baby will eat it, I'd keep her on it! Why change???

She doesn't have any problems with her skin so allergies are the likely culprit.

| I asked my vet about feeding my 2 boys the same food if only one of them has allergies and she said it's fine. The food has to be nutritionally complete to meet the requirements of the dog with the allergies so it's also fine for the other one. So...it should be fine to keep yours on long term. |

Have you thought about using NV's kibble/canned (Instinct line) foods at all? They're pretty clean kibbles - and they have better protein ratio. http://www.naturesvariety.com/conten...3E6CItj1E2B955

| Thanks! I knew I had read something about the ration of regular to allergy foods. I'll check out the Natures Variety, I don't know if they carry it but they do carry every other food I've ever heard of!
