| ~~~Which kinda Coat is this?~~~ Which kind of coat do you think Stormy has? She is 6 1/2 monhs old. I am starting to think it is Cotton. Her coat has always been wavy & thick! I use a Conditioning Shampoo, Conditioner, Almond Oil & Water Rinse & a Leave-In Detangler. It is very hard to brush or Comb even when wet. The 1st & 2nd pictures of her now at 6 mths old - the last one is her at 2 months old.

| Has she had her first haircut yet? I think it's kind of hard to tell until they have their first cut.

| Let me first preface this by telling you I am not an expert.... I would think though that she would have a silky coat because it seems to be reflecting the light which I thought was one was you can tell. How about her eyes when you take a photo? Do they reflect green or red/amber. If green, supposedly her hair should be silky. If red, cottony. Anyways, my guess is either a silk or possibly modified silk. Plus her puppy coat is probably growing out and I went thru a period of time where Zoe's hair was more difficult to brush thru and it was probably right around 6 months I think. Anyways, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will post for you. Good luck - she's a very pretty girl! |

I have heard of eyes reflecting colors rule. BUT..... She is still a puppy - her eyes reflect blue right now. Scruffy is a modified silk & his eyes reflect gold. Kylee is a silk coat & her eyes reflect gold Lexi is a wirey modified coat & her eyes reflect green. My friend has a cotton coat & his eyes reflect purple! Thanks for your tips...

| She is adorable-her coloring and coat reminds me of my Milli! Milli has a silky coat, but it's really soft-I think that's what yours looks to have too.

| Look at the hair on her paws, they would be the first to reflect her true coat texture.

Does Izzy have a wavy coat too? The breeder told me she was a silky coat. But her coat is so hard to manage - maybe because it is soooooo thick. I thought silky coat was easy to comb or brush.

| As a groomer and yorkie breeder/exhibitor....never brush a dry coat and never comb a wet coat...Never brush a dirty coat. Bathe, condition and let conditioner remain in coat for a minimum of 10 minutes....rinse and brush as you dry....long strokes, short jerky strokes break coat. Dry from underneath, belly and legs first...then layer by layer.......section by section. If you have a mat....use the side of a small slicker brush to work it out....slowly, do not force it...just gently work.
