| We're lucky to have a great groomer. I don't trust myself!! Here are some threads to read through for tips and hints on maybe doing it yourself. I just searched on "grooming at home". http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sea...archid=1824655

| I have been trimming and slowly getting into grooming my lil ones hair myself recently, she has never been to the groomer. I purchased a video off of ebay (seller: crownroyalyorkies) and I have found it to be very informative.... So far, so good....haven't botched up the cutting job at all....which I am surprised as my baby does love to wiggle

| I use a groomer, but there is someone on here that has a video of how to groom your puppy. Hopefully they'll see your post.

| I groom my Poodles and Yorkies myself. I taught myself. I started with the little stuff, cutting toe nails, minor trims, etc until I built up the confidence to do the rest. I bought good clippers and blades-that definitely makes a big difference. Also, I bought the book "Poodle Clipping and Grooming" by Shirlee Kalstone. I have read that book from cover to back several times. It explains not only the poodle cuts but also detailed explanations of the different clipper blades, how to hold the shears (scissors), different techniques, etc... that can be applied to grooming any breed. If you need any specific info, let me know and I will try to scan the pages you need and send them to you! My best advice would be to have fun with it, and if you make a mistake, remember it will grow back! Hope this helps! |

| I just recently cut MiMi's hair due to some matts i was frustrated with. I used a pair of thinning scissors to help give it a more natural look. Instead of the choppy edges, its more tappered. I am not too experiences at all actually, but I did find this help. I am sure with regular scissors it would have looked really bad! |

| I had to cut Meka's hair a month ago (matts)... I purchased a cutting set from Target ($25) and it came with how to dvd and all... There are so many aids that will help you learn........ it just takes practice and getting your pup use to it
