| Bathing, am I doing it too often? I bathe Pita every Friday because she loves to be outside sniffing around so much and I feel like she really needs it. Is that too often? I read that some only do it every few months...eek. |

| OMG I could never give baths every few months. My two are rarely outside and they get a bath every Saturday or Sunday. As long as you are using a good quality shampoo and rinse, rinse, rinse and then rinse some more it is fine.

LOL, ok good, that was scaring me a little. I use Crazy Dog baby powder shampoo, smells soooo good. That's why I bathe her on Fridays, we get to sniff on her all weekend | |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I bathe my pack twice a month, my vet told me that the main cause of itching besides bugs, dry skin and dry coat is that the shampoos strip the natural oils from them, so she recomends twice a month, she has patients that she recomends once a month. I know we want our babies smelling fresh but I don't want to strip the good oils from their coats either. hugs, |

| I bathe mine once a week...if not, their hair starts getting really dirty & it's hard to brush them out w/out breaking their hair. They've not had any issues w/dry itchy skin, but then we live in CA & don't need heating in the winter, which really dries out our skin. I'm also using natural shampoos which are soap & detergent free.

| I absolutely have to bathe Bayleigh every week. As long as you're using a mild shampoo, it shouldn't be a problem. Each dog is different, my maltese can go 2 weeks. Bayleigh has allergies and the vet said to bathe even more often during allergy season and wipe her down with a damp cloth every night before bed. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I bathe Romeo every week as well. On those very hot summer days, it'd do it maybe every 4 or 5 days because his hair gets very oily. Once a month he goes to the stylist for the "works"

| I have a shampoo that has SLS or sodium lauryl sulfate. Does anyone know how often one can use this? I think I will probably get another shampoo with less chemicals so I can shampoo more often like the Yorkie Sheen one or Biogroom, to shampoo weekly. Then I will use the SLS one once a month? anyone have thoughts on this or on SLS shampooos? |
