| Top knot flops forward Max' top knot always flops forward into his face. It won't stand up or fall to the back of his head unless I use a second band, which creates a very tall looking palm tree between his ears. (The hair isn't long enough to double over in the formal show style.) What am I doing wrong? |

| Maybe try put the rubberband closer to the scalp....that might help. Or, move it forward or back from where you usually place it, to see if it sits better. |

| awww, this happens to both Gracie Ruth & Yogi. It's because I put it too far forward on their head so that the short hairs right above their eyes can be in the top knot too. If you move the position back a little I bet you'll find that it will fall to the back.

| Following your advice, I put the top knot farther back on Max' head and tied the band a little tighter, closer to his scalp (hope I'm not hurting him ). Max is pleased to report that he doesn't look like a Yorkie unicorn today, and he doesn't have a palm tree on his head. |

| I put two bands, it's kinda hard to explain, but will try. You'll need two bands & a comb. 1. gather the hair for the top knot 2. divide the hair in two, one in front & one in back 3. put band on the divided section of hair in back 4. put banded hair & unbanded hair in front together 5. band together Banding this way keeps the hair from flopping this way & that & it stays put. If you have a rat tail comb, you can also pull out the hairs in the front of the head to make it look poofy.

| This is my first time posting pictures. Hope it works and that I don't crash the system. Today's top knot is not as good, but we are going to keep practicing the method you have taught us. This is Max after dunking his face in his water bowl -- and the second picture is the hairstyle he prefers : |

| Russian Yorkie, That is a spectacular hairstyle! I don't know if I have the dexterity required to do such precise work on my puppy's head. Is that your girl in the picture? She is a beauty! I have been doing better with the topknots by pulling the center of hair while holding the band -- which gives the topknot more poof and staying power. |
