| Age of First Hair Cut? Lot of chatter about haircuts, today, so I was wondering what the average age of a yorkie's first haircut is...My Apple is 4 1/2 months old, and hasn't had her first haircut, yet...She hasn't had a bath in about 10 days and TOTALLY looks like a ragamuffin;I would hate anyone to knock on the door....lol...I try to brush her everynight, because her legs look spindly, if she hasn't had a bath or been brushed...I'd love to hear when ya'll got your baby's first haircut....Love, Maggie & Apple |

| Lucky had his first haircut around 4 months. We had to wait until he had gotten all of his shots.

| Baileys first cut was 3 1/2 mos. old - she went in a puppy and came out an adult... It was shocking....

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Bella got her first grooming at around 4 mo. or so.....just bath, nails, ears tipped, girly parts trimmed up, etc... That's all she gets every time we go. Except, when she was 8 or 9 mo. old, I had the groomer do a little baby trim to get some of the puppy cottony coat off the ends--they said that if they used the clippers, she'd be much shorter than I wanted (I'm keeping her long), so I asked them to hold her hair out and trim it like human haircuts (only ~ 1/4 inch)! She did, and getting some of the black off, especially around her face, really make her look older . She's sure growing up!! I haven't had her trimmed again, and she turns 11 mo. old tomorrow, but I'm sure sometime in the next few months we'll do another trim to get that cottony puppy coat trimmed of the ends. I found that she was MUCH easier to keep brushed and looking nice after just trimming off 1/4 inch.....I suspected that cottony puppy hair was tangling easily, and I was right! A baby trim might be the way to go for you.... Good luck!
