| I'm such a bad mommy! I always take my baby to get groomed at the same place, and have since he was a pup. The problem is that I live an hour away from the place and I am having a crazy semester in school and don't know when I'll be able to make the drive to get him groomed... it's been a month, and he needed it bad! Anyway, against my better judgement I took him to Petsmart. HE LOOKS TERRIBLE! I asked for a puppy cut, and he looks like he got a summer shave down! When I talked to the groomer she sounded like she knew exactly what I wanted, short layers, still slightly shaggy... ugh! I'm not the type to complain, but I'm going to take him back today and see if I can get a refund of my money. It's not like they can fix him... he doesn't have anything to fix, unless they can grow his poor hair back! They even used clippers on his legs. The lady who groomed him had already left, but she left a note that I need to get him groomed monthly because he's not used to being groomed... he is groomed monthly! He is only 10 months old too. And when I was getting him used to it he went to get a professional bath every other week! He obviously didn't like her and knew she was giving him a terrible haircut! So I don't sound like a complete idiot when I'm complaining can someone tell me and maybe give me a picture of what a good puppy cut looks like... I like him short, but still shaggy. He has a very soft coat so he gets matted very easily. I want to sound educated on the topic... lol. Thanks so much! I'm so sad for my pup! |

| Awe! Even if you don't like his haircut make sure you tell him how handsome he looks! I'm sorry you don't like the cut. I guess you know next time that the drive to your other groomer is worth it. I'm sure he still looks adorable though |

| Maybe I'm wrong in what my picture of a puppy cut is... but I feel like his regular place would know better then Petsmart. I don't have any good profile pictures of him just after a groom... but here is one after a groom at his regular place: Picasa Web Albums - Kimberly - Hatton 1 And here is one after the butcher job at Petsmart: Picasa Web Albums - Kimberly - Hatton1 Should I bring a picture of his regular look when I go to complain? Anyone with experience with complaining have advice (I'm usually the type that just keeps my mouth shut)? I probably should have brought a picture with me in the first place and maybe avoided all of this mess! Rah! Am I wrong for being upset? |

| No, I have found that the biggest problem with groomers and clients is poor communication. The groomer should try very hard to understand what the owner wants and vice versa. Using terms like "puppy cut," "teddy bear," etc. don't mean the same thing to every one...not even to different groomers. I would highly recommend bringing in a photo to show what you want. A lot of groomers think "short" for puppy cuts. It looks like your regular groomer uses a snap-on-comb on his body. I've never been impressed with Petsmart or Petco grooming. It's like an assembly line.
