| Yorkies seem to have a variety of coat types. There's texture and fullness. Some have a silky texture and some a cottony or coarse texture. Just read the posts about grooming. Some of the puppies have a different texture and fullness as they mature and others stay the same. You could ask the breeder you purchased your puppie from about puppies she had sold previously. | the guy (whom i bought my yorkie from) said that he he just got this from a friend and only saw the mother yorkie, im afraid that this is not a pure breed yorkie, though the features and traits are known to be of yorkies and papers are complete... thanks |

| papers don't mean anything..I had papers on a pomeranian once(it said she was full blooded, but, she wasn't)..I sent pictures to AKC, but, they supposedly lost them..so, just forget what the papers say Now, do you have pictures of your baby? Mine is 6 mos. and she has the silky hair, but, at this time, is's also thin, but easy to comb. My first yorkie was like this when she was small, now, she's 5 years and her hair is very thick, although, it's silky and very easy to comb through |

| Some Yorkies just have the thinner coat. A Yorkie that is going to have a silky coat has a thinner coat than one that has a cottony coat. My first Yorkie had a very thin coat as a puppy and as she got older it got thicker. She is now 12 years old. Her coat was to the floor until a few months ago and I finally gave her a short cut. You never know for sure about coat until they get older. |

| Jaxon had thinner hair when we got him - I found that using a good quality shampoo/conditioner made a HUGE difference (Chris Christiansen).

| Thin hair Mya has a thick coat, some said it was a double coat. Not true, just thick or cottony but with conditioner when it is long it falls nice. I bred her with stud that has thinner coat his hair seems more silky and human like. I am hoping for a balance...lol. The breeder is keeping a boy from his last litter. He is 4 months old 0.7 oz, she said he looked bald when he was born but the hair came in. He fine, spunky, healthy and can walk UNDER Mya....lol
