| So does this mean we can talk about any kind of travel? Flights, car, boat, etc? I'd love some help on Gypsy's travel sickness, would this come under here now or health?? Sorry, I'm a pain...

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Great idea! I think you should award free trips to Mexico with our Yorkies to the first 10 people who post on this thread! OK, maybe that's asking for too much. I'll settle for a travel forum.

| Kitty and Alexis travel alot with me! My family lives in Ks., my husband works and stays in Texas and I live in Ok! We are always going somewhere! In the summer we take vacations alot too and the yorkies always go! We do alot of boating and Kitty loves to go on the boat (She even tubes behind the boat). This will be Alexis's first year for the boat! Hope she likes it. I need to get them both life jackets! Thanks Admin for this section!!!!! Great idea!!!!!!

| first trip with new baby We will be taking our first trip with our new Yorkie (10 week old "Bear" ) in about 3 weeks. We are going to Walt Disney World and camping for 10 days at Fort Wilderness Campground. We have had this trip planned for about a year...long before we decided to get our puppy. I am kind of nervous about how he will do on the trip but I can't bear to leave him at home. We will be driving there and back (12-13 hours). Once there we are going to spend a most of the time at the campground only visiting the parks 3 to 4 days. We have been to Disney many times and planned this trip to be a more relaxing one...enjoying the campground and other non-park amenities (if there is such a thing as a relaxing Disney vacation!) Do any of you seasoned travelers with Yorkies have any advice for making this trip easier or less stressful considering the newness of Bear to travelling? Am I wrong to take him 800 miles away for 10 days? Any suggestions appreciated. |

| oh fun fun fun!! i dont' think it is wrong to take him... your dog will get used to your lifestyle... Layla frequently spends the days in the car when we are travelling for business. Layla usually sleeps the whole way.. but you are best to bring a crate in case your pup gets upset.. bring a dish you can put water in, food, an interactive toy like a Kong to keep him busy... poop bags... when you stop at reststops do NOT go to the "dog walk area" so many diseases linger there and your little guy is very very young. ACtually he is probably too young to be staying at the DIsney kennel club whyile you are at the parks.. his immune system is very fragile and he shouldn't be around the other dogs there... make sure your vet knows you are going and see what he recommends. have a blast and take LOTS of pictures!! |
