Wow thats a good price ... I had to pay for Maya (in the Cabin with us) both ways 400 $ ..... and that does NOT include anything ... I was shocked ... but we wanted to take her with us on Vacation cause we went for 4 Weeks .... I would not give my Baby to somebody for that long .... Just make shure you will get the HC a week prior to leaving .... they were not kidding about me having to leave her behind .....

| My vet only charged me $20 but I live in CA, so the rules might be different in Florida. Most of the time you have to get the health certificate no more than 10 days before your trip. You should check what the state requires so you will be prepared. Have fun on your trip!

| Do you only have the wait time (3 days to Miami) for international flights? I'm trying to get this all under control but don't want to cut it too close. |

| I think my vet told me $45 for the office visit and $30 for the health certificate - on top of the $100 each way for the flight....that's just so much!!! The things we do for our pets :-)

| Hmmm...if you do it 7 days in advance, that only gives you 3 days on the Health certificate in many cases as they're only good for 10 days. I contacted my vet so I'll see what he has to say. Thanks for the insight. Marcye |

| waste I live in Texas and my Yorkie has been flying since he was 4 months old pretty regularly. The first time I planned to take him, I went to the vet, got the certificate, paid all the fees, etc. The health certificate only lasted ten days and cost something like $50. His first trip was to go visit family for Thanksgiving and we had two flights each way. I was told I would have to come back and get a new health certificate to take him home at Christmas. My family lives 12 hours away by car and with gas prices, it is cheaper to pay for the ticket. Due to convience and shorter layovers, I always fly American when I take him. While I did purchase a HC the first time, I have not purchased one since. I always have the shot record with me and they do sometimes ask to see it but as long as I have proof of his shots, they never care about the health certificate. If you ask me, the HC was a waste of money. You may have a different experience but it was never a problem. He has gone with me on at least 10 trips now (he is ten months old) and I have never been asked to produce it. I have never taken him on an international flight so those regulations may be different. Definitely call the airline as soon as you book your ticket and make a pet reservation though because they only allow a limited number of animals on. Good luck with your trip.
