| Please send my Mom healing prayers My 86 year old mother fell hard on the tiled kitchen floor last night. The ambulance took her to the hospital and she has broken her right shoulder and upper arm. She is being kept there for a few days to figure out how best to care for her. She has been having dizzy spells and had fallen on the same side twice in the last two weeks but this was a bad fall. She uses a cane/walker to get around and even getting up from sitting requires pushing off with both arms so this will be a difficult time for her. She is scared of hospitals so I am hoping we can get someone to come to the house. It is so hard being so far away. I have been talking to work and I think they will let me take off for a week even though it is very busy right now. I really want to be there for her as she has always been there for me. So please send prayers to comfort and heal my mom (Barbara). Thank you. Carolyn

| Sending Prayers and Healing Vibes for your Mom. I know how difficult is when we can't be there with them. I hope you are able to go visit her.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I will keep your Mom in my prayers. I hope you can find some good help. After my Mom passed away we didn't know how we were going to be able to care for my Dad in his apartment. He had a terrible fear of hospitals and nursing homes. We found some excellent help and between that and my sister and I we were able to keep him in his apartment for 3 years. He was 90 when he passed and only spent the last couple of weeks in a nursing home. Toward the end he was having difficulty getting up so we bought one of those chairs that have the lift in them. Maybe that would be an option for your Mom. You can usually get them a lot cheaper on Craigslist. Also, check with the hospital's social service dept for help. Hugs.

| Sending prayers for Mom. As someone mentioned before the chairs with a lift are great. If your doc will write a rx for it Medicare may pay for it

| I'm so very sorry to hear about your mom's recent health issues and will be keeping her in my thoughts and prayers. I can certainly understand how difficult it must be living far away from your mom and worrying about her like you are right now. I hope that your work gives you time away so you can help your mom and get her set up with some home care services that will help her remain safe in her home. |

| I was checking back in to see how your Mom was doing. I know you signed back in since you posted, so all is going Ok with your Mom. I hope you were also able to go and see her. Prayers still continue.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Oh Carolyn! I'm so sorry to hear your mom fell & was hurt; hopefully she's doing better as time goes on. My MIL has issues with dizziness too & we did get her a lift chair which helps her a lot. It makes me so so mad that in order for Medicare to help with any kind of lifts or mobility chairs etc a person has to damn near not be able to move at all (they've told her for 4 yrs that until she's not able to make it from her bed to the john she doesn't qualify!). Totally rediculous because by that time, they don't have a whole lotta "doing" to need it for. *sigh* I'd love to send her a card; if you'll pm me her name & address If not, please pass along our warm wishes for her to get better real soon.
