My 86 year old mother fell hard on the tiled kitchen floor last night.
The ambulance took her to the hospital and she has broken her right shoulder and upper arm. She is being kept there for a few days to figure out how best to care for her. She has been having dizzy spells and had fallen on the same side twice in the last two weeks but this was a bad fall. She uses a cane/walker to get around and even getting up from sitting requires pushing off with both arms so this will be a difficult time for her. She is scared of hospitals so I am hoping we can get someone to come to the house. It is so hard being so far away. I have been talking to work and I think they will let me take off for a week even though it is very busy right now. I really want to be there for her as she has always been there for me.
