| Malware issues... My computer has had a several MalWare hits lately when I log on to YT. Is anyone else experiencing these types of problems? My software is catching them and quarantining them, but this is really annoying. The latest was today and it was caught by MalWareBytes. It's called, Trojan.exeShell.gen |

| I was on YT earlier when Firefox completely shut down and this Windows 7 security thing came on and wanted me to purchase some malware something or other. It said a bunch of stuff like Trojan this and that plus Malware. Nothing on my computer would open and it installed a keylogger on my computer so it was being watched. Hubby shut off my Wi-Fi and I did a system restore to the last update I had a few days ago and it seemed to take care of the problem. I wonder what's going on...

| After more work, it appears to be a rootkit type of infection. Specifically this one was called 'zeroaccess'. Rootkit infections are very hard to remove and most likely will require professional help. Restoring to a previous date may help but not guaranteed. Be very careful clicking on any links in either threads or emails sent to you from YT. This includes links to news stories and/or pictures. |

| I have been having trouble with the Win virus, but I really don't think it has anything to do with YT. Not sure how that can even be figured out?

| Norton just blocked Malicious Toolkit 9, as soon as I opened YT...don't see how it can't be YT related.

| This is really strange as I have been having the same issues for about 2-3 day's. As some have said it's only when I'm on YT. At least my Norton catches it.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Same here and it is on YT. Fortunately my PC Tools spyware seems to be stopping it.

| OMG!!! Me too. It only happens on YT and thank goodness it was stopped by my antivirus. So, if YT has no virus, where could it be coming from? Weird. |

| Has anyone tried running their malware and/or antivirus programs in safe mode? It may be able to detect bad files in your internet temp file folders that the usual scanning did not detect, remove/quarantine. It has worked for me the last 2 times I got zapped by the "Buy This Antivirus" malware programs. I watched an IT person do that and after paying them $50 for the previous 2 times I gave it a try. It worked. Also make sure your java programs, malware and antivirus definitions are up to date. I'm running Malware Bytes and MS Security Essentials both have done a good job of catching malware and are free. Word of caution, if unsure about running in safe mode, get some help, you don't want to mess up some essential files.
