YT 1000 Club Member | Have I done something wrong ? I just made a post in a thread... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/general-yorkshire-terrier-discussion/222311-commandments-responsible-pet-owner.html and it gave me a message, that a Moderator had to "approve" it before it would be displayed. Just why is that ?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This is bc of our spam filter settings. New members' posts go into the Moderation queue for approval....just in case the new member is a spammer. We get a *lot* of spammer attempts here. These spammers try to post links to all of these weird sites -- but bc of our filter, their threads/posts sit in our Mod queue, waiting for approval (especially if a new member tries to post a link, anywhere). This enables us to ban the spammers immediately, rather than allowing them onto the board (although a few posts here or there make it through). Once a new member (a real one, like you) has a few more posts - the 'need for approval' will automatically disappear.

YT 1000 Club Member | Wylie's Mom: Thank you for your prompt and informative reply. I appreciate the caution/attempt to reduce/eliminate Spam, and support all actions toward that. But... The post I entered didn't have a Link in it, and... I have written other post here, which have been posted immediately. I don't understand why some are ok, and some aren't. Also, what is the number of post, beyond which this stops ? Have a good Day ! S.W.

It will go away very quickly, I will PM you right now w/ more info on that ! We apologize for any inconvenience, but the newbie filter helps so much in keeping spammers from the board. We do understand it can be confusing for new, genuine, non-spamming members.

YT 1000 Club Member | Here we go again ! First of all... Wylie's Mom, I want to thank you for your help with my PREVIOUS Problem, maybe you can help me again, on another issue of... RESTRICTED ACCESS ! Gees, I'm really getting tired of this ! This problem... When I visit a Site (and I belong to a LOT of them) I like to drop down on the opening Screen, and click on "Mark all Forums Read". I'm not sure it it's totally necessary, but, it assures me of continuing updates on Threads I'm subscribed to. It's there for one to use, and I like to use it ! Every time I click on it, it gives me the following message... "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." SO, being a good Member as I am, I report the problem as instructed, THEN, guess what happens... I get the following message... "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error." I have NEVER had problems like this on ANY Site I've ever registered on ! Just how do I get a "valid" Security Token ? Have I pissed someone off here, or on a another Forum ? Does the Administrator just exist in name only ? What word, phrase, sentence or paragraph have I written, that caused this, IF that was it at all ? Wylie's Mom, PLEASE don't get me wrong... But all you've been able to do is speculate on the cause of this. I completely appreciate your courteous and prompt replies, but I want an answer from someone who KNOWS what happened. PS: At least I'm able to post now, without a Moderators approval !

Administrator | You may try the below: First, log out of YorkieTalk. Then try to clear your Internet cookies and then sign in again, as the problem appears to be related with your browser. Please make sure cookies are enabled on your Internet browser settings. When you sign in, checkbox the Remember Me button. https://helpdesk.jetnet.aa.com/knowb.../aa_bb9167.htm You can also try to clear your Internet cache files. Here's how to do that: Internet Explorer 6: How and Why to Clear Your Cache We suggest members do NOT use the AOL Browser to access YorkieTalk. Internet Explorer or Firefox works much better with our site. Or you may try another Internet browser, such as Firefox (Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client) or Opera (Opera browser | Faster & safer internet | Free download), both which are free. The missing security token can happen when you let the browser window sit for 15 minutes or more, as the system thinks you are no longer active on the site. Usually, you can refresh the page and then post your thread or reply. |

YT 1000 Club Member | Didn't work ! Admin, Followed your instructions to the letter... Logged on, read a post, and tried to Mark Forums Read. Same thing got message concerning invalid security token. There has to be something in the Site Software, that has me tagged in some way to cause this. Would you please look into that possibility. Thank you for your trouble, S.W.

YT 1000 Club Member | Admin, You in fact HAVE solved the problem, THANK YOU ! I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to resolve this. But, can you provide me with a bit more informaton... I don't want this to happen again, IF I can prevent it, was there some word/phrase or whatever, that triggered the "tag", something I did must have caused this, right ? Have a good Day ! S.W.

YT 1000 Club Member | One final request ! Admin, Gees, I'm thinking I'm causing a lot of trouble for you...but It seems as though I suddenly have a very limiting "Edit" period limitation of only 5 minutes. I frequently re-read my post, check for clarity, and do that sometimes the next day or two, after I've written them. I wonder if it may be possible to increase that Edit time to the Site standard, which is considerably longer as I recall. Actually, I'll take as long a period that is aviilable ! Thank you, S.W.

| As far as I know, we all have 5 minutes to edit our posts and it is just a standard time limit. The moderators can correct me if I am mistaken. |

Administrator | The standard editing time for YorkieTalk is 5 minutes. We've had this in place for many years. You are welcome to type your response in a word processing program to search for spelling or grammar errors, then copy and paste your post to YorkieTalk if you would like. |
