| Addison's Disease? Good Evening Everyone, My York has been sick the past two days. He just got released from the Vet Hospital last night. He had been there a day and a half. They think he has Addison's Disease, and gave him the test. We should get the results tomorrow Friday. Is this something commen in Yorkies? We were so scared when he got sick. It was the worst feeling in the world, knowing your yorkie baby is sick. We are so concerned about him, and this disease. PLease.....if anyone knows about it, let us know. Amy + Henry

| Aw, I'm sorry about your baby. I hope he'll be OK. I know nothing about this disease. If you do a search on this site, I'm sure you'll find some helpful info from others who do know something. Good luck with your little one. |

| Re: Addison's Disease I am so sorry to hear about your Henry. I can tell you that for the past 2 months I have been dealing with Addison's in my Kuma. There is an Addison's board and those there are very knowledgeable about the disease and I've learned a lot since joining there. I knew nothing about Addison's when my Kuma got sick. He was, in the beginning, treated for renal failure, as he had a lot of the same symptoms, and the treatments didn't help. So, with that information and a vet that had experience with the disease, she did the 2 hour test and found that Kuma did have Addisons. He was a pretty sick little boy. Once the disease was diagnosed and Kuma was put on the shot (every 25 days or so) and a very small dose of Prednisone. It takes some adjustment to get them on the smallest dose of Prednisone possible and still keep them well but it is so much easier than not knowing what is wrong and not knowing what to do next. I am so new to this yet if I can be of any help don't hesitate to drop me a line. You are definitely on the right track if Henry does have Addison's. Keep your chin up! The Addison's list can be found at: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/AddisonDogs_/ |

| Henry tested negative for Addisons! Today we took our little yorkie baby back to the Vet. Good News NO ADDISON'S Disease! YAY YAY! The reason he was sick was he has a super sensitive tummy. Now we have to watch what we feed him, and no more people food. We are so happy! The Vet said for treats he could eat a few green beans, but needs to stick with his regular yorkie dog food. We are so happy! Thank You all for your replies, and prayers. Amy and Henry
