| Not sure whats wrong with Zoe? I have read other posts about the "hacking coughs", but i'm not sure if thats what Zoe has. Last night she was fine until bedtime and she started acting like she had to throw up, and this would happen every 2 to 3 minutes. Eventually she calmed down and went to bed, but i got up to use the rest room this morning around 2 and heard her do it only once. This morning i fed her and she seems to be ok, except that whenever i feed her hard kibble she eats so fast that she actually chokes on it and struggles to get it down. this time she threw up the kibble she choked on and there was like white bubbly flem with the food, is that normal? Can anyone help with the dry heaving and or the choking on the kibble? |

| My chi-pom did that for a day or two, and the vet x-rayed him and said he had eaten something metal (a staple). He had it removed, along with a hairball (gross). They used a gastroscope to get it out. Then later he ended up having a shunt, but that's another story... Hope your Zoe is feeling better. If she eats too fast, maybe you could hand feed the dry kibble one piece at a time? I do this with my dogs sometimes, just because after I've had a snack they want something, and I want them to have something healthy, not the junk I eat! |

| If one of my yorkies eats something that disagrees with them..which is RARE...they will gag and gag until they throw it up..and there are always bubbles in it. My Deucy did this the other day. It was the first time he had ever done it. I figured out what it was and he won't get anymore of that. Chicken broth from chicken noodle soup. It sure did not agree with him. But mine also eat very fast. I've started feeding them small meals three times a day and it is really helping them to SLOW down.
