I Love Thor Donating Member | Thor ate Roach Killer Here we go again...I hate having to post here. Anyone have any clue what to do? Should I force throw-up? He's acting fine, and I don't know how much of the little container he ate. It says there's no first aide once ingested, just tell warning signs of poisoning! |

| My first instinct is call the vet! I don't know anything about poisoning, and I'd want a vet to tell me what to do.

| My suggestion is to induce throw up. To my knowledge, side effects usually do not show until its is fully digested and in their system. If you call posion control, they will charge you $55.00 which I suggest you should do. If you need instructions to induce vomit, I have it straight from the posion control them selves sicne I called them 3 days ago. If yu have a vet available to call, call them if not, I wouldn't take anychances and induce the vomit. I'll PM my number if you need to call.

My furkids Donating Member | I wouldn't wait too long on this one...I probably wouldn't induce vomiting either unless your vet tells you...sometimes it can be a worse sitituation coming than going down.

| Induce vomiting by giving hydrogen peroxide as quickly as possible even before taking to vet, time is important - 1 tsp for a 6 - 10 pound dog. Give food first (peanut butter 2 tsp). If no vomiting, then repeat in 15 minutes. Here is a link. http://www.dog.com/vet/holidays/02.asp |

| The roach killer I have says to induce vomiting - do a search on your brand's active ingredient with the word ingestion. Roach killer is not caustic show it should be fine to induce vomiting. These are substances that you would NOT want to induce vomiting if ingested. List of Caustic Chemicals and Substances Battery Acid Bleach Carbolic Acid Motor Oil Drain Cleaner Fertilizer Glue Household Cleaners Kerosene Laundry Detergent Turpentine Plaster Sidewalk Salt Putty Pine Cleaners Paintbrush Cleaner Nail Polish Nail Polish Remover Paint Thinner Last edited by Lacy's Mom; 11-29-2006 at 04:19 PM. |

| Please call a vet as Villette said. I had two eat rat poison, (a packet in a box with electrical fixtures) and called emergency. We rushed them there and they pumped their stomachs not induced vomiting because it was an industrial poison not sold retail. The emergency vet told me one had eaten more then the other. They were followed up afterwards with several vet visits. They were fortunate that they had no lasting effects from it because of quick action. They didn't act sick but when I found the inch square plastic packet but I knew it was lethal. Jessica |

| They also might recommend eating charcoal (a special kind not the grill type) which will absorb toxins. I really think you need to take him in too. |
