| Bella sick Bella is our 2 year old female Yorkie weighing in at 4 lbs. She has been vomiting yellow clear fluid and soft stools I was away for a few days my husband mentioned that she was tired of her food and not eating. She started vomiting last Wednesday I had her in the vet on Thursday they sent her home after an x ray and diarrhea and nausea meds and they gave her a shoot of antibiotic said she had gastroenteritis. By Monday still no improvement same symtoms not having a bowel for days took her back to vet another xray I asked them to do blood work to make me feel better and they wanted to keep her and iv her no food to clean her system out. I gother back on Wednesday they said she was better and blood work looked clean. Now that she is home I still have to finger feed her she lays around and is not her bouncy playful Bella. I had noticed a few weeks ago she was not as playful with Zoey our other Yorkie female same age they always play together she was laying under table away from us instead of her normal back of the sofa spot when she is with the family. I am wondering if this is just recovery time she had this once before about a year ago and she seemed to be better right away. Anyone have any suggestions I am thinking of taking her to another vet just to make sure we have not missed anything. KB |

| I've learned the hard way. I would definitely take her to another vet. All vets are not created equal.I had used this vet for 20 years. I lost a dog a year ago to a bacteria overgrowth because he wasn't treated by his vet. I had a necrospy done to discover cause. Jessica |

| If your gut is telling you something isn't right then YES go to another vet! I would definitely get another opinion.

| Hi and welcome to YT. I'm sorry your little Bella isn't feeling well. Did the vet check her stools for parasites? They wouldn't show up in blood work, just the stool sample. Both Giardia and Coccidia can make them really sick and lethargic. If she is not eating well, I would start giving her some Nutrical every few hours to make sure she doesn't go into hypoglycemia as well. I hope it is just a little bug and nothing to worry about.

| Did your vet test her for Parvo? It only takes about 10 minutes to test for this. She has the symptoms. Please please please take her back to the vet and get them to test her for this if they haven't already. |

I Love Thor Donating Member | One thing I have learned from here is that you should always get a second, third and fourth opinion if YOU still don't think that she's feeling well. Like someone else said, you know her best. So take her in, and please keep us updated! |
