| My dog is a stoner Well, I'm really a good parent but the other week my chewie began to expirement with drugs..Me and my girlfriend went to dinner and left my 4 month old with the roomies.I came home and everything was fine. The next day I took her for a walk and decided to tend to my garden. I noticed chewie getting tired. So I took it as a treat as she is very active. I took her bed outside with me and laid her in there and continued my work. She slept the whole time. When I was done I picked her up and let her walk in the house and that's when I noticed something paticular. She began to walk and sway back and forth like she was drunk or just got off a cruise ship. I brought her bed back in and let her lay down. I checked on her about 20 min later. I noticed she had thrown up a solid chunk the size of her poop. I knew something wasn't right. I put her at one end of my hallway walked back and then called her. She was walking like a drunking sailor. She sat down and tried to lick herself and fell back because she had no balance. I called the ER and the told the vet what she was doing and the vet said to bring her in. I decided to take her to the ER. The vet wanted to take some blood samples and said it could have been a seizure. When the vet came back she asked me a odd question...She asked me if there was anything out of the ordinary happen in the last 24 hrs. I told her that nothing that I can think of. I continued to tell her that last night I went to dinner and left my dog in the care of my roomies. I continued to say that my roomies had a poker party that night and that was it..Then all of a sudden a smile came across the vet and while trying to keep a straight face she said that chewie was STONED!!!!!!!!! I was so embarrassed and shocked that I didn't believe it. SHe said just a seed could get the dog high. She said that she was sure that was the issue. She said she sees it all the time..She even walked me into a room where two other dogs were stoned to the bejezuz. I immediately called my roomies to see if marijuana was present at the house last night. They said Yes and then it made more sense. What I concluded was that the day after the party chewie saw a bud or seed on the ground and ate it........Hindsight it is now funny but now I'm looking for a good rehab. clinic. |

| Oh MY GOODNESS!!!! I think, as a good parent, you need to sit your baby down, and have a heart to heart about "recreational drugs". LOL...Maybe THEN Chewie will understand..... |

| Wow, scary! At least the vet knew what it was, and it wasn't a seizure! Did the vet say anything about long-term effects of being exposed to that? |

| Wondering if she had the munchies? I am sorry, it's not funny but then again it is. Just make sure she don't start hanging out with the wrong crowd. Hehe Poor baby!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Poor Chewie! I'm glad that it wasn't anything REALLY serious. I'd have a long talk with the roomie...after all, it IS illegal. What if the cops would have shown up. The consequences and then maybe they would have taken your dog, too! I mean, yeah, hindsight makes it funny but you should consider the situation YOU are in along with your dog.

| This reminds me of something that happened to my poodle when I was in college. I had her at my BF's house and his pothead brother apparently fed her brownies that had pot cooked into them. She was so stoned and I was sooooo mad at my BF's brother I could have killed him. It took her all night to come out of it. |

| I think it's sad that the dog was left with someone that he knew was probably taking drugs or had done so before. I hope he has sense to keep his dogs away from his "friends". I hope the dog will be ok and not have to ever go through that again. Sorry but I don't see any humor in this.

| Call me a stick in the mud, but I don't see any humor in this situation either. It is our responsibility to keep our precious babies out of harms way. Having a dog in an environment where drugs are being used is putting the dog in danger. It could have been much worse. I'm glad your baby is alright. |

I would also be careful w/ your friends now too. Because they might think this is really funny & want to do it to him again.

| I would kick my roomie to the curb if I found out they had drugs in my house. There is way to much risk involved. Even if you are not the one with the drugs, you are still responible and the authorities could file charges against you too. If I were you I would have a talk with the roomie. I hope your little fur baby is okay. |

| Having experimented myself in high school and still being relatively young, I am for once feeling like a 'stick in the mud' as well...or maybe just a responsible adult. Wow...not funny! I have only had my puppy for a little under three weeks but she is just like a baby to me. For the most part, I wouldn't leave her in any situation I wouldn't leave my daughter in. |
