| Could this be serious? About six months ago my male Yorkie x chihuahua developed a purple looking bruise on thigh of his back leg. It never seemed to bother him so just kept an eye on it. It grew to quite a large size and became very dark purple. He's not at all bothered by it so i didn't worry too much. However over the last few weeks another has started appearing in the exact same place in the opposite back leg. I've tried to look it up online but nothing has helped. The original mark is quite big and dark but not getting and bigger or darker. The new one is quite small but getting bigger. There's no swelling and he is totally fine in himself. No lethargy no loss of appetite etc. Should I be worried? Thanks in advance Bekky |

| Oh and at night when he scratches he yelps in pain. But this only happens at night so I don't know if it's related. Thanks. Bekky. |

| It could be something that can be treated very easily or it could be something that left untreated, could lead to serious consequences. Go to the vet immediately. Better safe than sorry. |

| Hi Bekky oh poor boy. I would definitely consult with a Vet. Purple sounds like bruising, or there could be broken blood vessels underneath. Dogs will mask their pain so if he is yelping it really hurts. I hope it is nothing serious but I have found with Buster and myself the longer I wait to deal with an issue the bigger it can become. Even in your title you are aware it could be serious so rather than worrying about it just have your boy checked out. Best wishes with the Vet check and let us know how things turn out. We really do care about the yorkies we get to know on YT. Once you love a Yorkie you have a soft spot for all Yorkies.

| Obviously, something is not right and you really need a vet visit ASAP for a proper DX. Please let us know what the vet has to say.
