| Sick Puppy Help Hi, I have a yorkie pup that is almost 6 months old. Recently (since Sunday) she has been either vomiting or regurgitating after every meal. We only feed her twice a day but, for about a week, we have been having trouble getting her to eat after we bought her a new bag of dog food, which was the same brand but a different flavor. When we switched back to her old flavor today, we had no trouble getting her to eat but she still vomited. She has been behaving normally before and after each time she vomits. All other bathroom habits have been normal and she is still hyper and playful. We are first time dog owners and up to this point we haven't had any problems with our pup and we plan on calling our vet tomorrow. Any advice as to how to keep her healthy until we can get her an appointment would be appreciated. I understand that sometimes switching foods can cause some sickness but is it normal for her to be vomiting this much? Thanks. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT ! No, it's not normal at all for dogs to throw up this much - you do need to get to a vet asap before she dehydrates or worse bc something is clearly going on here. Please let us know what the vet says.

| When you speak with the vet office, you will have to show concern and clear anxiety with what is going on with your pup, and TELL them you need to get her in today to see the vet because she has been vomiting after eating for a week..... dont ask WHEN you can bring pup in, tell them you need to get her in TODAY....". If they see you are truly worried and frightened about the pup, they will work pup in that day.....the always have time slots where they can work emergencies in. If is was ME, I would have my pup in hand, show up in the office, and tell them you need for the vet to see the pup....you understand they will have to work you in, but you will be happy to wait to be seen. They will work you in! |
