| Oliver Had His Surgery Yesterday Oliver had his cataract surger. The vet said he did very well. Now he has a big lamp shade collar on and he's really unhappy. We have to take him back today for a recheck. One of the techs called to find out how he was. I told her how unhappy he is and that he can't eat or drink with the collar on. She said maybe they can cut it down a little bit. I also told her that he kind of got away from me and ran down the steps to the back yard. I was terrified but she told me not to worry because It wasn't a full flight of steps. I tried to crate him but he cried so hard I couldn't do it. The most important thing is that the surgery was a success and now he'll be able to see out of the eye again. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes I know it helped. |

| I am very happy to hear that Oliver's surgery was a success! The lamp shades/party hats are never fun. Sending gentle hugs to Oliver.

| So happy to hear the surgery went well and Oliver will be able to see out of that eye again. Hey, if he got away and ran downstairs, the collar must not be totally hindering him. That's a good thing

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Glad surgery went well. The soft e collars are the best. Mom to Hot Rod on here sells relly nice ones. It's always nice to have one on hand just in case.

| Eye surgery So happy for you that the surgery went so well. You must be so relieved! I know the hard cones are not comfortable and I am sorry your baby does not like it. He will get used to it after a bit. Hope he can sleep with it on poor baby. As for eating and drinking, I had to feed the food in the bowl to my boy inside the cone as he could not get to the food with it on. The soft Kiss-E collars are great further down the line but not yet, as it allows access to the eye. How are you doing with the oral and eye meds? Is he taking all that well? Praying for a quick healing and for life without that nasty collar! Get well soon Oliver. Last edited by dottiesyrky; 04-05-2013 at 03:49 PM. Reason: typo |

| Such wonderful news to read Oliver's surgery is a success! I'm so happy for the both of you. I know how hard the recovery time is...Zhoie's 12 weeks of confinement broke our hearts too. It's so hard because they just don't understand it's for them. The recoup time will be over soon.

| Oliver is doing just great. He went to the vet yesterday and he said he was healing really fast. He told us it looks like Oliver had his surgery two weeks ago. He also said his was wonderful to work with and he wishes that all the dogs he operated on was as good as he is. They also cut down his lamp shade so now he is able to drink at least. He still has trouble with his food so we've been hand feeding him. He's very good about his eye drops but not to great with pills. He's on predisone and Clava Mox. He only takes them with ice cream so we have a supply of ice cream for him and the other guys. I can't wait until the lampshade comes off. Will keep you posted about his recovery. |

| Oliver What wonderful news on Oliver's progress, and I am sure he is happier with the cut down cone! It seems that the eye and oral meds are not too hard on Oliver and I am sure he enjoys the ice cream treats! So WTG little one, enjoy your great eyesight, and get well soon! |
