| My sweet Willy is so ill. I have tried everything suggested by vets Hello everyone. I am a newbie here and am desperate. My sweet Willy, 7 years old was diagnosed in September with lymphangiectasia and inflammatory bowel disease. He has been treated by the very best vets and internal medicine specialists that we can find here in Ontario. We are desperate and now need help in coooking his food. He is on many different meds and special foods from the vets and hospitals have not proven to be sucessful. Does anyone have any recipes or any suggestions on this subject. We have spent a small fortune on meds and food and care and he is not much better. I want to do my best for him. thank you |

May I ask what hospitals did you go to? Did you go to OVC, or VEC, or Oakville Mississauga Hospital? I live here in Toronto. I will say that probably cooking his food is going to end up being your best and often cheapest option. And truly it doesn't take a lot of time. I am going to PM LadyJane and see if she can help you out next time you are on line. BTW there are todate no certified nutriontists for canines here in SW Ont.

| I am so sorry that you are having a problem with getting Willy stabilized. Lymphangectasia can be difficult. It probably is a good idea that you home cook...that is what I do for my Cookie and she is doing very well. I was told that the main key with these pups is diet. She was diagnosed last year at this time. I am copying two links below for you to read and see if perhaps they might help you out. I definitely suggest that you use a vet nutritionist. Don't just try to do this on your own .. it is relatively inexpensive to do a consult and get a diet from one. Usually anywhere from $150 - $300. I can give you a couple that you could use...and I will also give you the link for the American College of Veterinary Nutrition where you can look one up. The nutritionist I used for Cookie's diet is in Houston at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists and your vet could call a consult in with her. Her name is Catherine Lenox. The website for them is Home She is in the Internal Medicine Department. You could also use Rebecca Remillard and her website is Welcome to Pet Diets The ACVN website is American College of Veterinary Nutrition http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...g-protein.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...ia-update.html Sorry this is a bit short, but I have company coming. Just wanted to get this post out for you. Please, do not hesitate to message me if you need anything. I will keep you and your Willy in my thoughts and prayers.

| Thank you so very much. <3 Hello everyone and thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your help. It is so much appreciated. You have given me hope. I love my little Willy so much and have been caring for him around the clock. He is a little sweetie pie. I will look into all of these suggestions tomorrow as I have been under the weather with a sinus infection. Once again, my heart felt thank you to you all. I will sleep a little easier tonight. |
