| Thats the thing,he doesn't appear to be in any pain.He isn't shaking all the time just off and on.It's a nice sunny day so he isn't cold even so I have now put him a t shirt on.I've made sure he is drinking as I thought it might be dehydration. He has eaten nothing his sister hasn't eaten. He seems quite normal apart from the shaking just very clingy. He usually lies down by me when I'm on my computer but now he has to be on my lap.I'm concerned because I had yorkie before who had epilepsy and I lost her when she was having bad fit.But then these are nothing like the fits she had. |

| "he has eaten nothing & his sister hasn't eaten", so they both didn't eat anything today? They can shake if they have low blood sugar...feed them something.

| This really calls for a vet to diagnose. All of our "guessing" will not help him. It could be anything, shaking is a symptom of pain, it could be an intestinal obstruction from something swallowed (like a bone chip, piece of plastic, rawhide chew, etc.), or constipation, or other tummy distress, or from pain in other areas. Dogs do have a high tolerance for pain, and the shaking is a symptom that something is wrong. It could be something as simple as an insect bite or as serious as a liver shunt. Again, only a vet can tell you for sure.

| My 17 year old yorkie shaked throughout her entire life whenever we were out in public and people gave attention or when we'd have visitors. I see lots of small dogs do this so I just assumed it was a small dog nervous reaction. Anyways Kecia was healthy and lived a long life with her shakes. My new pup Pippa did it the other day when we were out and about and a stranger came to pat her...I'm thinking it's not that uncommon...but I'm no expert Everyone would always ask if she was cold but as soon as they left she would stop. |

My 4yr. old Meika started occasionally shaking after hearing neighbors fireworks on the 4th of July. Now she shakes every Thursday morning when my gardener runs the weed eater. I am positive her shaking is due to being frightened by noise, but I am also going to talk to her vet about it when she has her annual checkup in August, just to be sure. Good luck, and give us an update when you find out what's going on.

| That is great. Shaking can be from pain but it can also be from fever. Are there any other symptoms? Really it is best to see the vet. I'm glad tat you are going.

| Since she hasn't eaten anything I would give her some Nutrcal or Kayro syrup until I could get her to the vet. She may just have low blood sugar. Hope she is okay. |

| We have just got back from the vet.he started to shake again when we were in the waiting room and was still doing so when she saw him.But after 15 minutes she couldn't find anything wrong with him.Talking to the receptionist she thinks it was when a cat came in that he started to shake.I have now realised that there is a new huge cat that comes into our garden.Seems my brave little soldier may just be scared of cats.I have 2 of my own but they don't bother him,but he keeps well away from nextdoors cat when that comes through our cat flap.We have another appointment at vet for next week just to make sure he is okay, and she has told me if he has any more episodes to see if the cat is about and to take him back if I get worried again.I really hope it is just him being a coward as I can soon scare off that cat.Thank you so much for you help on this site.If there is any furthur problems with any of my babies this will be the first place I go |

| I'm sure you feel a little better having him checked out, and glad it isn't anything more serious. It is weird how they can become fearful about certain things, even later in their life. My Meika's reaction to the noise of the weed eater is surprising to me. I don't know if it is best to comfort her, or to distract her, or just ignore it.

| Well he has had lots of cuddles today and no shaking. He watched his daddy squirt that cat with water gun and wagged his tail as it shot off.So we are hoping it don't come back.Gets me how he can hold his own with the rottiweiler and staffie nextdoor but is afraid of a cat lol |
