| Upset tummy Chase has had an upset stomach this weekend. It started off Friday night with a softer than normal poo. Saturday morning it was a bit runny, and Saturday night it was all liquid. Yesterday it was all liquid (about 4 times), and he even didn't make it to his pad once (close though), which is the first accident we've had in well over a year. He acted fine the whole time, otherwise I would have taken him to the emergency vet. He was eating normally, still playing, etc. I started giving him chicken, rice, and pumpkin yesterday, which he loves. I decided to get him in to the vet anyway, just to make sure it wasn't anything serious. We were able to get him an appointment this morning, although his normal vet is on vacation (of course ), so he had to see someone different. His fecal came back normal, temp was good, and he got a very thorough exam. He was a bit dehydrated, so he got some subcutaneous fluid (which he was SO good for, the vet was super impressed, and I'm a proud mommy ), some meds to give him every 6 hours for 5 days (endosorb), and Hills I/D canned food for 5 days (only this food, no treats). I hope it works. It's times like this I wish he could talk and tell me how he's feeling..... I don't know what could have caused this.....Calvin has been fine. We have not switched foods, they only go outside once or twice a day for our walks and they are on a leash and not unattended. |

| Aw! Hope Chase is feeling better soon! Mine used to always get bouts of diarrhea usually when the ground was wet in spring and fall... I thought they picked up a bug on their feet or something... so my vet recommended probiotics for all of them, which work very well. Only a very occassional bout now and only lasts a day, and only affects one dog at any given time, not all four as used to happen!

| Thanks! He hasn't done much since we got home, but they normally do sleep and not play much until the evening anyway. He hasn't had a poo since this morning, so hopefully the meds are working. I had to call the vet again because she said she would look into how much of the I/D I should give him, and she forgot to tell me and I forgot to ask before I left. Should we go for our normal 2 mile walk tonight, or just a short walk? Last night we only did about a mile because he had 2 yucky poo's and my bf didn't want to make him dehydrated (we do take a bottle of water and offer it during walks). He acted like he wanted to walk further, and Calvin had a TON of energy since he didn't get the full walk in. What do you think? |

| I am so sorry. I am just now seeing this. My Rosie has IBS and has many times had the same problems as your baby. She always did well with the I/D. And I also know how happy it is to see the solid poo!!!! Hope your baby continues to improve!

| Yay!!! (for solid poo) Sorry I missed your post yesterday.... but anytime mine are 'off' for any reason... I do shorten their walks... sometimes as much as a walk out to do potty then right back in... till their problem is resolved.

| I'm sorry little Chase was having tummy issues, but glad to hear that he is feeling better. Sometimes when Peppy gets over excited he gets the loosey goosey poopey. I try to let his stomach rest and feed a few plain chicken & rice meals and usually that gets him back to normal. |
