| Red Rash Daisy is fine after her spay, but she has red rashes along the top of her legs where she was clamped. So i put a bandage around her scar and then around her legs to stop her licking it and making it worse. Does anyone have any ideas if i should put any cream on them or vaseline,or should i ring my vet: |

| I would call the vet. As far as putting a bandage on the incision, I would use a baby onsie instead so more air can get in & infection does not develope. |

| I agree with Lillymae you should ask the vet. When Lily was fixed I just used a baby onsie and it worked great. I think letting the air get in is important for the incision to properly heal. I would not put any ointments on unless vet tells you to. Sometimes ointments can be detrimental to natural healing.

| Yes, I would use a baby onsie.... I used one for Riley at night when I couldn't keep an eye on him. Did they give you an e-collar? You may have to use that to keep her from licking. |

| Is it a rash or slight bruising? I had that happen with one of my fosters not so long ago. It was a light reddish color but was superficial bruising. It went away on its own. I am guessing your vet told you what it was from so he/she knows about it? I would just call and ask about it. As long as it does not worsen, I am sure it will be fine. A onesie or e-collar definitely should help if she is licking. I prefer e-collars.
