| Why is he not eating? My yorkie Zero is 11 weeks old. I adopted him from a rescue shelter about a week ago. His first vet visit was yesterday. The vet said everything was fine and gave him a puppy booster and heartworm treatment. He spent most of yesterday sleeping and was in a bit of pain where the shot was, which I have read is normal. He hasn't been eating much since the visit though and I'm starting to worry. He is drinking water just as he normally would but he is only eating a little bit at a time and only if its being hand fed to him. Any thoughts on why he won't eat? Bailey, Cameron, and Zero |

| Is he on the same food he was eating at the shelter? he may not like the food... have you offered him more then one thing? I usually cook up some rice and chicken... if they eat that they are just being picky and you may need to find a new kibble... if they wont eat that, then I go to the vet because I KNOW something more serious is up! Good Luck.

| Addie doesn't like to eat for a few days after her shots either (she's two years old now). I give her the chicken and boiled rice and slowly start putting her dry food in it until it's back to the dry food. Like ArmaniMan said, he may not like the food. I had to try several foods before I found something mine would eat.

| He may just be needing time to adjust to his new home. How's he doing today? You could give him a bit of Nutrical to keep his blood sugar up, and it may stimulate his appetite.

| He is back to eating like normal! We put his food dish next to our other dogs food and that got him to eat. I guess he just wanted to eat where the big boy eats! Thanks for all your advice! Bailey, Cameron, and Zero |
