Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Breeders......need info on Pyometra Who has experience pyometra in one of their female dogs? Can you share your experience? I think we are in the middle of this situation and am looking for information. (She is already at the vet being monitored/tested....she is in the very early stages....and the short delay in surgery decision is the need for her co-owner to be contacted/agree.) Thanks!

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i'm not a breeder but i was a vet tech for a few years. I saw many pyo surgeries. Its good that you caught it early so she shouldn't have any problems. She'll need to be spayed and placed on antibiotics but after a few days she should be fine. Good luck!

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Thank you both! My female silky is in emergency surgery to be spayed, as they feel certain it is pyometra. That article is good...it gave more information on the symptoms than what I have heard/read.
