| She probably has kennel cough. A vaporizer or the steam from the shower might help until you can get her to your vet tomorrow. I assume you got a health guarantee, so make sure you let your breeder know what your vet says. |

| It very well could be kennel cough. Sometimes when coming to a new home they will cough some. My Barkley did for about 1 1/2 weeks when I first brought him home. My vet checked him out good and said that it probably was just the change in environment. After that 1 1/2 weeks he just quit. We have hardwood floors and he was so tiny and so low to the ground he "sniffed" up everything. Hope that is all it is. Good luck at the vet tomorrow.

| My vet recommended adding some liquid vicks to the water. We vaporized the daylights out of Nikko when he had kennel cough, and it did gradually start getting better - though it still lasted for well over a month. The weird thing is that after over a month of the cough, our vet insisted that we go ahead and do the kennel cough bordetella vaccine through the drops in his nose - she said that sometimes when the cough is lasting too long, the vaccination will actually cure it. Well lo and behold, within a week or so of getting that vaccination, his cough was completely gone. Weird! But anyways, just keep in close contact with your vet. Kennel cough can turn into doggie pneumonia (like a cold can turn into pneumonia in humans), so your vet might want to put her on a preventative antibiotic at some point. My vet told me that one of the signs of pneumonia was lethargy, so keep an eye on activity levels. Everything'll probably be just fine though... like a human cold, she just needs to stay otherwise healthy and warm and wait it out until it goes away on its own. Lauren & Nikko |

| You can also put her in the bathroom with the shower going for steam
