| Can dogs get people sick? Everyone we've been around lately has been sick with this nasty cold, snot, fever, cough stuff and I heard a long time ago that dogs can catch people illnesses. Does anyone know if that is true? I don't want Curly Mac to get sick, especially being so young and little. Is this a myth or should I take some precautions? Thanks for any advice. |

| It's not true. There are not many diseases that can be passed between humans and dogs. So don't worry!

| I agree, your pup is not going to catch a cold from people. But Winston has had colds before.

| Hello, How did you know Winston had a cold? What were his symptoms? I think my sweetie has a cold. she sounds like she's congested, sneezing and has a wet cough, not like a dry kenned cough. Thanks for any advice/feedback...oh..how did they treat it? Medicine or just time? Thanks so much! |

| there are some diseases that can be passed from dog to human and vice versa. Human colds and flus are not passed back and forth. However, some that can are tonsilitis, and dogs can become infected and become a carrier of strep that make humans sick.
