| My poor baby I have a 3 year old neutered male yorkie named Brownee. He has been walking very strangely lately and his front paws keep folding over. I thought maybe it was just a sprain but it hasn't gone away for a few days. I took him to our vet and he is now on an anti-inflammatory. 3 days later he still hasn't gotten any better, now it seems like one of his back legs is having trouble now. I am going back to the vet tomorrow morning, hopefully nothing too serious is wrong with him. He is still eating and drinking like normal. He doesn't act like he is in pain, just very clumsy when walking. Any thoughts? |

| I'm so sorry that this is happening to your little one. I don't have any answers but I wanted to say that I will say a prayer for Brownee that he gets well soon.

| If his paws are folding up or knuckling, I would wonder if it is neurological or a bone/deformity issue.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I wonder the same and I guess my concerns would be growing as the symptoms may be spreading. Can your vet consult with a neurologist or a vet-teaching hospital? Is it possible that he got into something? Does he seem "with it" otherwise (alert etc.)?

| update... He is actually at the vet right now and they are doing the bile acid testing to rule out the liver shunt. I have an appointment with a neurologist tomorrow morning as well. The vet said that his right pupil isn't dialating so it could be neurological. I feel so bad for my little baby he is like my child! I'm so sad! |

| I am so sorry this is happening. Yes, it really does sound like a neurological problem and hopefully can be corrected. Hugs and prayers coming your way.

| Update: Hydrocephalus So my baby has been diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. He had a CT scan today and there is fluid on the left side of his brain. It breaks my heart to see him like this. I should find out what can me done by tomorrow after the radiologist looks at the ct scan. The neurologist I went to today said he doesn't think it is enough to justify surgery and we will most likely have to try a steroid medication. But, he doesn't know if his symptoms will clear up. His left side of the body is effected, his legs and eye, which cause him to walk in circles and stumble. I am a mess, I've been crying all day. I don't care about the money I just want my baby to be better. The worst part about it all is when people are so insensitive about it. It's just a dog... no actually it's not just a dog. Ugh! The vet also said that this is a congenital disease. Which means that other dogs from this breeder are going to have the same problem. It makes me so upset that some breeders are that selfish and/or ignorant. Sorry to vent... I'll keep you guys updated. |

Oh Sweetie, I'm so sorry Have you contacted Brownee's breeder to let her know? I would and have her contact the rest of his littermate's owners. You and Brownee are in our prayers.

| I'm so sorry your precious Brownee is so ill......I hope the medication works for Brownee's sake.....you could also try a homeopathy vet to see if there are other options, I hope things improve for Brownee, I will be wishing you the best......
