| Sadie's sick AGAIN! (sorry long) Hi Everyone, i haven't been on in a while but Sadie is sick again and i was wondering if you had any ideas what is going on. It started several weeks ago...she had diarrhea and vomitting. took her immediatley to the vet and they said she was fine and played all day. when i took her home she was wiped out. Ran a fever and would shake and not eat. Vomitting/dir. stopped after that day but we took her back when she still wouldn't eat or stop shaking. She was so weak. they gave her some pain meds for her aches and antibotics. She finally got better. Well, Friday she was playing in the yard and eating things she shouldn't, grass, bark and acorns! She then threw up several times. She got better after a short time and was fine again. Sat. and Sun. she had mushy poop (sorry!) not really diarhea but not regular either. well last night and this morning we have gone back to diarhea and vomitting. Hubby is on the way to the vet now to see what is going on. I'm so worried they are going to say she's fine again and then get worse! If the vet visit is frustrating again we will take her to get a second opinion but i thought maybe you guys would have any suggestions! Please help! |

| I am so sorry that little Sadie is sick again. The only time Toto has had those symptoms, the vet found that she had a gastrointestinal inflammation. She almost dehydrated in a matter of hours which was more dangereous than the gastro inflammation! He gave her a drug called Flagyl and after a couple of days was as good as new. I believe if it were me, I would seek another opinion if you don't get satisfactory results this time. Most importantly, she needs liquids. If she isn't drinking plenty of fluids, try pedialite, gatorade, fresh chicken broth, etc. Toto will drink fresh chicken broth if she won't drink anything else! Good luck and please keep us updated. I will keep her in my prayers.

| Thanks! She is drinking but i will pick up some pedialite to help! Of course, dehydration is my main concern. I have an appt at a new vet at 3:00! I hate waiting but she seems okay right now and hasn't been sick again! |

| saying prayers for sadie!! poor baby! not sure what originally caused the sickness but if it came back, i would also have the vet look into the medicine they gave her to make her better... when miss buffey got spayed, she had a HORRIBLE reaction to the painkillers which did not show up for two days...we had to rush her to the emergency vet on easter morning because she had the same symtoms as sadie...not trying to scare you, but reactions to meds happens all too often

| I am so sorry that your Sadie is not feeling well. Toby has had the same symptoms and we are pretty sure it has to do with his diet. He was rushed to emergency as well with pain nausea and diarrhea too. He is now on Flagyl and Pepcid AC and these are helping him to feel normal. I hope the vet is able to help your Sadie and I will check back for an update. |

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | awww poor Sadie...You know, if you have a tree, check that the black birds, crows are not dropping walnuts. I had that happen in my yard and walnuts are notorious for mildew. I was ready to blame the kids next door for throwing them over the fence until I saw the birds dropping them myself. |

| Sadie has Colitis DH and Sadie just got back from the vet. Sadie has Colitis. She got two shots and some take home meds and should be fine in a couple of days. We are going to skip agility class tonight (obviously) and rest! The new vet was great! Also, the old vet after 2 visits never did a stool sample which is the second thing (after temp) that this vet did! Thank you all SOOO much for you thoughts and prayers for Sadie. I'm so glad that this is something that can be treated easily and not a more serious problem! Thanks Again! jenny and Sadie |
