| ![]() Hi all. Terrible story. I now sell my antiques online since selling from my home became dangerous and potentially costly when a woman faked a fall during one of my garage sales. We immediately got a letter from her attorney asking for our homeowners insurance information. We consulted our homeowners insurance and they said to go ahead and provide her the information. She sued, of course, and we were told that since we put a garage sale ad in the paper and signs up that we had "invited" her onto our property. Our insurance offered her $1000 no questions asked. She declined and demanded $10,000. They hired a PI and discovered that she wasn't injured at all and was in fact a serial "faller and suer" who targets aflluent areas and homeowners in particular. They convinced her to either drop the suit or be turned into the police for fraud. She accepted and went away with nothing. In light of the experience of the breeders, I definitely think that meeting places should be arranged to show the puppies and parents of the puppies. Pictures or emailed video can be provided to show the home situation of cages and general surroundings to give the prospective buyers peace of mind and sellers security. They should remember that if they place ads and have people come to their homes, they run the same risk. |

| ![]() Can not believe how scary the world is becoming. I'm a breeder & have always encouraged people to come to my house to see the babies.I want them to check me out & I them. Now I'm not sure what to do. At least I live in A fairly small & safe town. I've even had buyers fly in & stay at my house. How dumb am I? ![]() As for the crates, I have crates for all. The doors are only closed at night. Mine will go in & out of their crates all day. They know that it's their special place. We all need a refuge from the crazy world. ![]() |

| ![]() This is strictly my personal opinion but here goes. I would not have that many dogs plus breed them is I had to work away from my home. The article said the man returned after a LONG day at work but I don't recall that the lady of the home was mentioned (or else I forgot that). That is a large number of animals of any kind to take care of, clean after, breed and still work long days. I don't know how they have the energy to put forth at the end of the day. I could not do it... I am glad the dogs and puppies were found safe and unharmed.... |

| ![]() That is an awful thing that has happened to you and to the pups. I hope the law finds the criminals and put an end to this kind of raid. We have a little Roxie and if she was stolen we would be terribly upset and do most anything to get her back. Good luck. Hey, we found the cutiest little online store for Roxie's new bows. I believe the site is called www.Katiebows.com The lady that owns the site actually lives near us and she delivered the cutiest little bows for Roxie. It's amazing to see how a bow just brings out Roxie's personality. This is my first ever posting. Thanks for a nice place to visit for Roxie friends. Mimi |

It is really hard isn't it. But I have so far been lucky but I also run a very tight screening process over the phone first.

Hi Mimi, Congratulations on your first post! I hope you will feel comfortable and post some more. It's a sad situation when our pups aren't safe in their homes. Why don't you start a new thread and introduce yourself and tell us more about Roxie. Would love to see pictures of her in the new bows. Jessica

| ![]() Mimi...I couldn't get that link to work, but would sure like to check it out... How crates are used in my house: I have a 3 yr old beagle, and a 4 month old Yorkie, both have crates and they are put in them at night and when we go out, or the odd time I can not watch them. We have active boys in our home who sometimes leave things where they maynot belong. My sweet little ones are crated for their safety, I could never forgive myself if i left them free, came home from grocery shopping and found one had choked on something. Keeping them in them at night gives me peace of mind too, I have heard stories of house fires and the pets hiding and won't come out. I know exactly where they are and how to get them to the nearest escape route safely. JMO.... and Welcome to YT.. you will love it here, as I do. ![]()

| ![]() How sad, this goes on everywhere...somebody broke in my house in Feb, and they stole my little boy, 5months old....i have not seen him since....it broke my heart....i am upset with one of the posts on here, i dont think that the owner is responsible in any way.....you have to go out......you have to live even if you do have puppies.....i am sorry but it is hard enough when things like this happen, and the only people that are to blame, are them who did it.....i was only gone for 2 hours.......and that happend....it can happen at anytime....day or night....if you are in or out....these people really dont care......they are heartless!!!

| ![]() Hi everyone. I am really upset about the robbery and hope the people are prosecuted. That is awful. I am also glad that he got all of dogs & puppies back he is one lucky guy...... I too crate my dogs, at night and when I leave. I am a fanatick when it comes to there safety. It's like the one person in case of an emergency I too know where My buddies are and how to get to them. I also have 2 girls that want to kill each other. So I have to be very careful with thoses two. I too am worried about people coming over to see my puppies. I think meetin somewhere might be a great alternetive after all I have plenty of references that they can call to see how my puppies are raised and treated and how they live and any other Questions they might have. |
