She looked at me funny and left. I did tell the sheriff and they went and talked to her. So I thought ok this is over with ......NOT.......she came back a third time and I went running out my dorr yelling at her, she got in her car and took off. I think if I could have caught her I would have beat the crap right out of her.
Well now our fence is so high you can not reach over it and you can no longer even look in our yard to see the dogs..........Gotta protect my babies.....
That lady is a psychopath! Good thinking on the fence... I would have gone nuts if I were you!

I live in fear my babies will be stolen when no one is home because I am a groomer as well who grooms from my home. All of my clients know I have yorkies, and yes occasionally puppies...so does the UPS man, the mail man, the meter reader, etc. As for crating your dogs when you are not home.. We do not know 1. do these dogs FIGHT with each other? in which case absolutely they have to be separated for their own safety. 2. Do both "parents" work, or just the husband? 3. are they crated for 4 hours per day, 2 hours per day, 8 hours per day? Does some one come home during a lunch hour to check on them? Are there older children who come home at 3 pm and can care for the dogs? You simply can not pass judgement on someone from a photo. I have 5 yorkies, and 5 yorkie puppies right now. And yes my babies get the BEST of everything, but YES I have crates..WHY? 1. Males Mark! 2. 2 of my girls hate each other and want to kill each other. 3. what about when someone is in heat, do I want indescriminant breeding? NO! 4. Do I want everyone peeing at will all over my house? Nope. I rotate out making sure everyone gets all the love, and attention they need, along with plenty of excercise outside, but also "nap time" in their very own crates (which they LOVE, they are like their own bedrooms with their own toys), and plenty of house time, and one on one time with me as well. you just simply can not pass judgement on someone with crates in a picture. FYI my crates are stacked because of space constraints, they don't seem to mind..LOL Bruiser's is on top, he considers himself to be on the penthouse!
I agree totally. I don't believe it's how many you have - it's how many you love and care for.

Hi all. Terrible story. I now sell my antiques online since selling from my home became dangerous and potentially costly when a woman faked a fall during one of my garage sales. We immediately got a letter from her attorney asking for our homeowners insurance information. We consulted our homeowners insurance and they said to go ahead and provide her the information. She sued, of course, and we were told that since we put a garage sale ad in the paper and signs up that we had "invited" her onto our property. Our insurance offered her $1000 no questions asked. She declined and demanded $10,000. They hired a PI and discovered that she wasn't injured at all and was in fact a serial "faller and suer" who targets aflluent areas and homeowners in particular. They convinced her to either drop the suit or be turned into the police for fraud. She accepted and went away with nothing.

In light of the experience of the breeders, I definitely think that meeting places should be arranged to show the puppies and parents of the puppies. Pictures or emailed video can be provided to show the home situation of cages and general surroundings to give the prospective buyers peace of mind and sellers security. They should remember that if they place ads and have people come to their homes, they run the same risk.

Can not believe how scary the world is becoming. I'm a breeder & have always encouraged people to come to my house to see the babies.I want them to check me out & I them. Now I'm not sure what to do. At least I live in A fairly small & safe town. I've even had buyers fly in & stay at my house. How dumb am I?
As for the crates, I have crates for all. The doors are only closed at night. Mine will go in & out of their crates all day. They know that it's their special place. We all need a refuge from the crazy world.

This is strictly my personal opinion but here goes. I would not have that many dogs plus breed them is I had to work away from my home. The article said the man returned after a LONG day at work but I don't recall that the lady of the home was mentioned (or else I forgot that). That is a large number of animals of any kind to take care of, clean after, breed and still work long days. I don't know how they have the energy to put forth at the end of the day. I could not do it...
I am glad the dogs and puppies were found safe and unharmed....

Lightbulb Awful and criminal

That is an awful thing that has happened to you and to the pups. I hope the law finds the criminals and put an end to this kind of raid. We have a little Roxie and if she was stolen we would be terribly upset and do most anything to get her back. Good luck.

Hey, we found the cutiest little online store for Roxie's new bows. I believe the site is called www.Katiebows.com The lady that owns the site actually lives near us and she delivered the cutiest little bows for Roxie. It's amazing to see how a bow just brings out Roxie's personality.

This is my first ever posting. Thanks for a nice place to visit for Roxie friends.

Hi Jan, I agree..... I too am a hobby breeder and have always encouraged people into my home to see them and to meet their family as well as them seeing where my dogs live and how I take care of them. I can't imagin saying,' Oh... these are pictures of my home..... pictures of mom and dad.... so let's meet at the Mc Donald's parking lot and I will show you the pup.'! Can you imagine! I tell people looking for pups to always see the home and what condition it is in.

It is really hard isn't it. But I have so far been lucky but I also run a very tight screening process over the phone first.

Yes indeed these types of things are happening all over the world. It is a sad thing that you can't even enjoy your little ones the way you want to without someone trying to swipe them because they are so costly and can sale for thousands. I wish this type of thing will eventually be handled so that everyone will not be scared to walk with your little one without wondering who is prying around for their next target. Well one things for sure I see here @ YT we all stick together and that's what makes me proud to be a new member

Hi Mimi, Congratulations on your first post! I hope you will feel comfortable and post some more.
It's a sad situation when our pups aren't safe in their homes.
Why don't you start a new thread and introduce yourself and tell us more about Roxie. Would love to see pictures of her in the new bows.

Mimi...I couldn't get that link to work, but would sure like to check it out...
How crates are used in my house: I have a 3 yr old beagle, and a 4 month old Yorkie, both have crates and they are put in them at night and when we go out, or the odd time I can not watch them. We have active boys in our home who sometimes leave things where they maynot belong. My sweet little ones are crated for their safety, I could never forgive myself if i left them free, came home from grocery shopping and found one had choked on something. Keeping them in them at night gives me peace of mind too, I have heard stories of house fires and the pets hiding and won't come out. I know exactly where they are and how to get them to the nearest escape route safely. JMO.... and Welcome to YT.. you will love it here, as I do.

How sad, this goes on everywhere...somebody broke in my house in Feb, and they stole my little boy, 5months old....i have not seen him since....it broke my heart....i am upset with one of the posts on here, i dont think that the owner is responsible in any way.....you have to go out......you have to live even if you do have puppies.....i am sorry but it is hard enough when things like this happen, and the only people that are to blame, are them who did it.....i was only gone for 2 hours.......and that happend....it can happen at anytime....day or night....if you are in or out....these people really dont care......they are heartless!!!

Hi everyone. I am really upset about the robbery and hope the people are prosecuted. That is awful. I am also glad that he got all of dogs & puppies back he is one lucky guy...... I too crate my dogs, at night and when I leave. I am a fanatick when it comes to there safety. It's like the one person in case of an emergency I too know where My buddies are and how to get to them. I also have 2 girls that want to kill each other. So I have to be very careful with thoses two. I too am worried about people coming over to see my puppies. I think meetin somewhere might be a great alternetive after all I have plenty of references that they can call to see how my puppies are raised and treated and how they live and any other Questions they might have.

Omg What a shame!

The breeder I buy from no longer allows anyone to meet the puppies in her home. She keeps a business in town where she brings out the puppy that someone sees on her website and meets with the people away from her home and the other dogs she has. The only problem I have with that is I do not get to meet my two puppies I just purchased from her and will get in a couple of weeks parents. I understand her concern though when this kind of stuff happens...
