| 2009 Food Poll - What food do you feed your yorkie? With the new year, just wondering what everyone is feeding their furbabies these days. Sorry the poll only allows up to 10 options, so I couldn't list all the brands. Currently I feed Cassi Canidae, but am planning to switching her over to Natural Balance. Cassi's little brother will be arriving at the end of this month and his breeder feeds him Bil-Jac. So I'm debating what food I should feed them both once he turns 1 yrs old. Thanks for taking the poll!!

| I voted 'other' because I rotate between Artemis Fresh Mix, Timberwolf Organics and Innova small bites.

| Not to step on any toes but, mine eat pedigree everyone always says ohhh thats like the garbage of the foods, but i dont believe it! I used to feed them science diet, and i feed my pitbull pedigree and they would go eat out of his tray! i mean basically they picked what they wanted, my babies are happy and healthy in all ways. it makes no sense to spend money on that expensive stuff when to me its all the same. But whatever floats your own boat |

| I picked wellness because that's what I'm feeding now for dry but I also feed Halo can food sometimes mixed with the dry and my baby loves Halo. I also feed the Natural balance food roll when traveling or sometimes as an extra treat mixed with the dry. I'm thinking of switching dry food when this bag runs out, though. The speciality pet store where I go suggested a new food but i can't remember the name. They were sold out because everyone loves the food. All I remember is that it has five meats. |

| Feedback PLEASE! Can someone give me feedback on Science Diet? Bent is 7 mos old and I feed him the small bites puppy forumla. That is what my vet recommended. I admit he does not "gobble" it up but he will eat his kibble when he is determined nothing else is coming out of the refridgerator to him. We have never had a low sugar problem... not overweight, etc. I am just now concerned as it seems so many are using other brands? I would really appreciate some feedback (good, bad or indifferent) so I can appropriately re-evaluate. Thanks for your help!

| I feed Royal Canin and some canned pedigree. Or if I get a picky one, anything that I can get them to eat. If they won't eat anything else I can usually get them to eat puppy chow. |

Science diet is not a very good food. Why vet's continue to recommend it is a whole other discussion. There are several good foods that are recommended by other's on this site. If you look into the forum for health and diet I think there is a sticky there that will give you much information on a good food. The first three listing on the back of the food should be meat not fillers. Sceinec Diet is full of fillers and not healthy meat. Canidae Wellness Natural Balance are just a few that I can think of. Canidae and Natural Balance are small kibble. I am sure other's will be able to tell you about the other's. Good luck with your new little one, | |
