| How much to do you usually spend at happy hour on average? I thought HH was supposed to be cheap? The last few weeks we have been doing HH on our day off, and it always seems to rack up to about $40! Two drinks between the both of us, and a few apps. How does this happen? $40 is about how much I expect to pay for a full meal!

| The last time four of us went to HH we spent $170.00. We only had a couple of appetizers (I fixed a peanut butter sandwich when I got home). We did have a couple of shooter drinks (purple hooters, smurfs juice), but I wasn't expecting the bill to be that much.

| yeah I feel like HH shouldn't be that much if I'm still gonna end up eating once I get home. And I don't like to get deep fried apps, other than calamari, that's pretty much the only deep fried thing I will eat. Fries on occasion, but who would get fries at a HH?

| The place we go (when we go) has a variety of appetizers, quite a few that aren't fried. I try to be careful what I eat at HH, but I don't want to go home hungry. I don't want to spend a lot of money either. The joys of HH!

| That seems to defeat the purpose of HH doesn't it?

| Exactly! Granted, we have been able to eat at restaurants that we normally wouldn't be able to afford. Like for a $14 crab cake?! But for half off, still a little steep, but the best crab cake I've ever had!

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | My friends are broke so we usually split a $10 bucket of beer and a couple aps at the same places. We have ventured out to a couple expensive places and learned our lesson. Don't ya love happy hour though? I just get tired so early when we go. Yes. $40 is way too much!!!

We do "Thirsty Thursdays" most weeks at a local pub. One app. is $7.99 and 2 drinks are $9 (HH special $4.50 each for a pub runner). Add tip to that and it definately puts me over the $20 mark for just me.

| This is my advice (coming from a poor teacher and first time home owner!): you need to find a GOOD happy hour and then be smart about splitting apps and getting the most of your buck. Good luck :-)

| Happy hour can be so very expensive.... but like someone else said, I will spolit an appetizer with a friend (usually about $4 each for a 1/2 price "tizer") and then with 2 drinks (at half price) about $3 each.... so about 10 bucks..... but then there is the tip.... which I calculate according to reg prices..... so it will cost me about 13-14 dollars total.... good thing I don't do Happy Hour very often, either!

♥Trained by my pups♥ Donating YT 500 Club Member | There is a place here we go 16 cents beer and 1.16 appetizers for the first hour they open. You can get a steak and potato the first hour for 5.16. It's just a 6 oz but with the potato plenty. Appetizers change each day. it's called three sixteen. And opens at that time. 16 oz glass of beer

YT 1000 Club Member | Happy Hour, what is that?! Seriously I have not been out since before I had my daughters and that was over 18 years ago. Now that I have Romeo it's worse -- I never leave home unless it's to buy stuff for Romeo. Someone please have a drink OR two for me!!!
