Default No-Name Norman

Hi,

I just thought I'd talk to you guys about a new friend I've found. I think he's a spoodle. NZ seems infested with ~oodles of all description. He was racing around on the street when I came home. So I picked him up and have let all appropriate authorities know and posted on all the "lost pet" sites.

I've dubbed him "no name norman".

He's following me everywhere and he seems just the sweetest natured dog. He's a bit wiffy and in need of some TLC. Oh I'd LOVE to keep him. But what would I do with three dogs!? I hope his mum and dad call for him before I get too attached! Here are some pics. (Dougal's giving him the once over in the last two pics.)

The yorkies are seriously unimpressed! I have to say tho.

Animal Smiley 019 Good for you!

What a sweet little face! You are a saint for taking that little guy in! Being alone on the street is something that no furbaby should have to face. Thank-you for being so passionate!

He looks exactly like the Cockapoo we had about 20 years ago, he's even the same color! Ours was named Benji and he was a very good dog.

Hi guys thanks for all your lovely comments. No one has called to claim poor old no name norman yet.

I took him for a walk with my two monsters and he went very well. (I kept him on lead while my two romped). He actually walked quite well on the lead. And he sits and stays (a little bit).

He's definitely not a terrier. There's no terrier attitude about him. He's gotta be about 22lbs but Dixie - 7lbs - bosses him around. Dougal's mellowed to Norman a bit. But Dixie's being a bit of an ice maiden. I'm really seeing her "aristocratic" side. Who'd have thought that a dog as short as Dixie could look down her nose at a dog 3 times her size!?

I'm beginning to wonder how long he's been roaming. His tail is just a solid mass of matted fur - except for a tuft at the end! He has been clipped across his back and hind legs but it might have been a while ago. He kept scratching so I de-flea-ed him and he seems to have calmed a bit. but then He wasn't starving when I fed him.

I don't know - I hope someone claims him. Poor old no name norman he needs a mum who can devote lots of time and love to just him. I was already feeling guilty for not sharing the love enough between two dogs!

Also if I want to keep more than two dogs I'm going to have to get special permission from the city council - not to mention my landlord!

For those who would like to know. Animal control called this morning and they've found Norman's mum and dad! Hooray. Animal control is coming to get him this afternoon.

Awww, he's darling! I hope that he gets claimed before you get too attached.

Pardon me for my ignorance, but what does "whiffy" mean? Does it mean what I think, that he needs a bath?

You are awesome for taking care of him. Glad that his parents are found. Hope they keep him warm and safe and his days of wandering are over.

Yep - you were right - he sure did need a bath! Living on the other side of the world to most of you means there are a few phrases I use that may be you guys don't - but I don't know which ones you don't know!

My fav kiwi saying is: "two shakes of a lamb's tail". it means "shortly". Like "I'll do the dishes in two shake's of a lamb's tail".

OMG I've gone off topic on my own topic!

The owner was very relieved to get Squiggles (aka Norman) back. Although she did have him for sale Maybe that's why he ran away! She wanted NZ$1200 for him. He's three years old and a "cavoodle". NZ$1200 is what I paid for Dixie!
