Balancing the Checkbook/ HSBC ? Thats what I am doing now, totally not fun!!!! I have started budgeting myself!!! So no more shopping until i get my allowance next week . I have GOT to start saving money for emergency purposes. Good thing I get paid today!!! That can help out some!!! BTW. Does anyone have an HSBC savings account? I am thinking about opening one, they interest rate is almost the same as a cd right now.

I don't know if this will help but here are a couple of very small things you can do that will add up quickly. When I write a check I round it up to the next $ amount when I subtract it. So, if I write a check for $22.13 I write that in the box so I have the exact amount but I subtract $23.00 from my balance. I never balance my checkbook because there is always more in there than my balance shows. We also throw our change in a jar at the end of the day and that adds up very quickly. You could easily have a few hundred dollars 'saved' up in a short time if you did these two little things and you never miss the change.

Thats a good idea, I don't right that many checks though. Josh is the one who cash's in his coins a lot, i have a lot of pennies..lol. Well I don't really balance either, I save my receipts and once they clear the bank account I file them.

You don't have to write a check to do it...I do the same thing when I use my debit card. I always subtract a check/debit once it's done, that way it's out of my account...out of sight, out of mind!
