Default Healthy Snack Ideas?

What are some healthy and yummy snacks that you like?

I need some good ideas, to keep myself going... I have been so snacky and I am getting tired of my regular baby carrots.

Low fat yogurt is good... String cheese is yummy too.

OH and those 100 calerie snack paks which you can find in all sorts of good snacks. You can even get low fat Jello pudding which is good too!

I second the string cheese idea. Frigo makes one that only has 60 cal. and it's really good. Another good one is the 100 cal. microwave popcorn bags. You can make them last forever and it feels like you're cheating.

Frozen Grapes. It sounds wierd, but if you wash some grapes and put them in a zip lock bag in the freezer, they are oooooh so yummy! It helps me get over my popcicle and incecream addiction

I like to dip my carrots in some hummas. It gives those carrots a little extra kick.

I also like to snack on string cheese.

I have been "dieting" since January. Some of my snacks:
-Apple with string chese
-Cottage cheese with a tomato
-Fat free hot dogs cut up in little pieces (you can put some mustard on for dipping if you like)
- Fresh fruit -- all kinds! Bananas are my favorite -- I have been finding these very little bananas lately and they are great as usually 1/2 banana = 1 serving -- but with those little ones, I don't have to deal with the remaining half or feel like I am cheating when I eat the whole thing.
- Craisins -- I love these! Cranberries made like raisins. Great on a salad too!
- Sugar free jello with a dallop of cool whip (you can get lite or FF)
- Sugar free/fat free pudding made with skim milk
- a Boca burger -- naked (no bun)
- Homemade trail mix (FF pretzels, nuts (I love walnuts or pecans but peanuts are okay too, raisins, craisins, some dried fruit of choice) -- I make this and then put them in snack size baggies so I don't over eat it.
- Popcorn (air popped is best but I usually just use the microwave).
- Soy chips (I have not found any that I like yet though)
- Melon (I try to keep a bag of ready to eat assorted melon in the fridge -- cantalope, honeydew, seedless watermelon -- sometimes I will add in some papaya or mango).
-Fresh veggie mix -- ditto on a zip lock of already cut up cauliflower, broccoli, baby carrots, green pepper, cucumber) -- I find if these healthy choices are already in the fridge, ready to eat, I will make better choices when the urge to munch comes along.
-South Beach breakfast bars.
- There are all sorts of low-cal frozen dessert bars to snack on now too -- like the Crystal Lite Cool & Creamy bars -- 50 calories
- I am on Nutrisystem and they have some good dessert/snack items. I am a chocolate pudding addict! (My reward for staying on plan all day is to have a NS chocolate pudding for an evening snack).

I am down 36 pounds!

I have been changing the way I eat for the past 5 months now. A couple of my favorites are baked lays chips, they are expensive but boy are they good, yogurt with blueberries, strawberries and granola is very good. I also buy packets of garden herb and mix it in with fat free sour cream and dip every kind of veggie in it. I have lost 36 pounds, hardest thing I have ever done. I am a very big snacker but I find these little snacks really help. I have alot of neck and shoulder pain and apparently if you do not get at least 9 fruits and veggies combined you can have alot of aches and pains and can be very tired, I guess I found out why I use to feel like crap most of the time. I never checked to see if you had another thread about this, are you trying to lose weight or just eat healthy. I have a great recipe for a veggie soup that is good and I eat it any time of day and it is very filling if you want it just let me know.

I love protein snacks such as nuts, cheese and peanut butter with banana. I find these stick with you a lot longer and curbs your sweet tooth craveings, not to mention how healthy they are for you. I also love assorted cut-up fresh fruits. (water mellon, grapes, canelope, apples, oranges and blueberries).

No problem! All of these ideas sound delicious, I'm getting hungry! Another healthy snack favorite of mine is the flavored rice cakes - they have miniature cheddar cheese, ranch and even popcorn flavored now. Yumm!
And ditto on the 100 calorie packs - I find my biggest problem is portion control. I've started measuring out my servings in baggies for everything. It really helps!
