| Recipe's? Since I'm always alone and bored, and can't do much lol I decided I want to learn how to cook before my babies are born. I only have 18 weeks (or less) left to learn lol So would any of you care to share your favorite recipe's with me? |

| recipes Why not ask for some pasta sauce recipes...then you can make in a big batch, freeze in smaller bags...use on all sorts of pasta's after the babies come and you have no time to cook. I have also cooked the ground beef and frozen it..then scooped out a cup or two adding it to sauces when needed..then you have plain and meat sauce... |

| Here's an easy way to use jarred alfredo sauce- Brown bacon in pan (as much as you want, 4-5 slices should do it). Remove bacon from pan and drain all but a few Tbsp on the fat. In the fat, sautee a finely diced onion over med until its translucent then add diced chicken breast. While chicken is cooking, boil water and cook fetticini. When chicken is cooked through, add a jar of alfredao sauce. Chop up bacon and add to sauce. Toss with pasta. Easy and yummy. You can also add broccolli to the pasta water to cook with the pasta and that's good too. What kinds of food do you like? I have a lot of good/easy soup recipes and also a great chili recipe and chicken and dumplings recipe that would be great for a beginner. Just let me know.

| Here's my chili recipe. It is VERY meaty so if you want, you can use less meat but it is really good with the full amount. I also have a vegetarian 3 bean chili recipe if you prefer. Chili 2 lbs ground beef 29 oz. can tomato puree 29 oz. can crushed tomatoes 15 oz. can red beans 1 large onion, diced 1/2 c celery diced 1/2 c bell pepper, diced 1/4 c chili powder 1 tsp cumin 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder salt and pepper 1/2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper Brown and drain meat. Sautee all veggies. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 1 1/2 hours (or longer).

| Here's a soup I make a lot this time of year. Sausage and bean soup 1 onion, diced 2 T olive oil 2 chicken sausage, sliced (or use italian or whatever you like) 5 cloves garlic, minced 2 c stewed tomatoes (I run them through the blender) 1 c chicken broth 2 Tbs tomato paste 1 15 oz can white beans 2 tsp fresh rosemary or 1 tsp dried salt and pepper In a large saucepan saute onion in olive oil for 5 min over med heat. Add the sausage and brown with the garlic. Add remaining ingredients and cook on low for 45 min. Corn Chowder 2 T butter 1/4 c onion 1/4 c celery 2 T flour 3 c milk 2 c meat (smoked sausage, cooked chicken, whatever you want) 1 1/2 c corn 1/4 tsp thyme 1/4 tsp red pepper salt and pepper can of cream corn Saute celery and onion in butter over medium ,add flour, stir 1 min. Add everything else and keep at a low boil until thick, about 5 minutes. Don't let the amount of ingredients scare you away from the recipes. They are really common, inexpensive ingredients and the actual amount of work is very little and will help you learn basic skills like dicing and sauteing. Have fun and let me know if I can help.

| How about the EASIEST recipe ever Peanutbutter cookies! (just make sure your peanutbutter isn't contaminated before you make them! ) Ingredients: 1 cup of Sugar 1 Egg 1 tsp of Vanilla Extract 1 cup of Peanutbutter Directions: Mix all the ingredients listed above together. Then take a heaping 1 tb spoon (just to get an idea of how much dough, after that you can just take it by hand and you don't have to worry about the Tablespoon) worth of dough and roll it into a ball and place it on the sheet. Then take a fork and press down on the cookie forward and then sideways (so you've made the shape of a cross or an X) Sprinkle the tops with sugar. Place in the oven warmed at 350 degrees and bake for 8-11 minutes! Viola! And what kid doesn't like peanutbutter cookies |

| Simple and Easy and kids love it!! Tater tot casserole: 1 bag tater tots 2 pounds ground hamburger meat 1 onion chopped 2 can cream of celery soup Cook hamburger meat until done, drain put in casserole dish(big one) cut up onion and place on hamburger meat, add 2 cans of cream of celery soup and put tatertots on top Bake on 375 for 25 to 30 minutes!! Another one kids love: Chilidog casserole 1 package of hot dog buns 1 package of hot dogs 1 can of hotdog chili 1/2 large onion mustard 1/2 package of shredded chedder cheese Break up hotdog rolls into bits and layers(press) into bottom of 11x7 pan slice hotdogs and layer over rolls. Chop onion & sprinkle over. Spread Chili on top of entire thing and sprinkle cheese on top bake at 350 until heated thru and chesse is melted. My kids love this but I leave the onion and chili off of what they eat, these are quick and easy. When I was 17 my mom made me cook 1 meal a night and that is how I learned boy I made some bad mistakes but that's how you learn!

Salsa: 1c white corn 3/4c diced peeled avocado 1/4c chopped fresh cilantro 3tbsp finely chopped red onion 2tbsp finely chopped seeded poblano pepper 1tspn lime juice 1/4tsp salt To prepare cakes: 1. Finely chop shrimp in food processor. Set aside. 2. Saute bell peppers for 3 minutes. Add garlic for 1 minute. Place in large bowl. Add shrimp, mayo, green onions, lime juice, hot sause, sugar, salt and egg. Stir well. Add cilantro and 1/4c panko 3. Make 10 shrimp cakes. Dredge both sides of cakes in remaining 1/2c of panko. Chill for a least one hour. 4. Cook on both sides for 4 minutes. To prepare salsa: 1. Combine all ingredients in salsa. I hope that makes sence. I copied the recipe from somewhere else and it didn't make much sense, so I tried to make it as clear as possible. So if I copied it to you guys correctly, these things are SO good!!!! Next time I make it I'll double the salsa recipe. | |
