| Ask before I bring Rocky This mad me soo mad yesterday! I don't know if I'm just being stubborn, or if I have the right to be mad. Someone please tell me! So today were going to my Grandma's for Christmas dinner. My aunt hasn't come around for the past few years for holidays. She's always tired or has another reason. Well this year she is finally coming over (Her hubby passed away over the summer, so I think it's because she doesn't want to be alone). Well I bring Rocky to all my family functions, and it's his first Xmas with me so of course he's going to come with me everywhere. My mom tells me that I "better call and ask if I can bring Rocky incase my aunt brings her rottwieler" I never met this dog, so I have no idea if her and Rocky would get a long, but I don't think it's right that Rocky is "second choice." My grandparents love Rocky, and not only that, I AM always there for EVERY holiday! Plus, after my grandparents I'm going to my parents to do presents with them. I probably won't be home until 8-9 tonight! I can't leave Rocky that long. I told my mom that I AM bringing Rocky, and I don't think it's fair that just because she might want to bring her dog, I would have to leave him home especially since I'm ALWAYS there and she hasn't been. Then my mom got pist at me, but I still am not budging. I'm happy my aunt is going to be there, it'll be good to have her back around for the holidays, but now I'm sitting here just wondering what's going to happen. If the dog is there and Rocky and her don't get along, I can pray that they will put the rott in another room, or I'll just hold Rocky and keep him in another room, or play outside with him (if it's not cold..haven't been out yet). I just don't understand why I have to be the one to leave Rocky at home

It does seem unfair to you - I know...I would feel the same way. But AT LEAST your aunt is back around for the Holidays and HOPEFULLY she won't bring her Rottie over to Christmas dinner. Let us know how it turns out! Merry Christmas girl!

| My relatives have a lot of "bigger dogs" Dobermans, Boxers, Danes, etc. and they al bring their dogs with them when they come down. Jaden is only 4 pounds and I am sooo protective of him so I never let him down when they are out in loose. I bring his crate and he stays in there, in his baby pen, or in my arms. If they are in their crates or leasehd he can get down with supervision. I would just bring something Rocky can be in, that way he can stay in there. I never like to take chances with bigger dogs. Even if it seems like they are getting along, if they don't "know each other" and have lived with each other I liked to keep them seperated becaus even in playing a small yorkie can get hurt by a bigger dog. |

| I hope everything turned out okay today w/ the dogs. Was the big one there? We take Mojo to all of our family gatherings, but we never allow him to be by any of the big dogs. My uncle had a big wolf dog that was very mean an dhe brought him to all the family things too. On the 4th of July, it got after one of the smaller dogs, there was a big fight between the humans and my grandmother said NO MORE DOGS! Well, we still take Mojo, but she said that he isn't really considered a dog in her book - he is the smallest of them all and the best behaived of them all too. The big wolf dog is no longer around - sad to say, it was shot - I think because it was aggrassive towards someone or something - didn't get the whole story. I think her mom was just looking out for your safety - you just never know w/ other dogs!!

| So we went and brought Rocky! My cousins pom was there, and they don't get along (Rocky is the mean one) so we kept them apart. My aunt didn't bring her dog at first, but later on she did and the rott was great! Only problem was..Rocky. We let them sniff eachother and next thing you know Rocky starts growling and getting pist. We were about to leave anyways, so until we left I just held him. Leave it to Rocky to start with a 95lb dog.
