| I'm 24 weeks pregnant and ordered to do BEST REST!!! Help, guys! Anyone here ever have to go on bed rest? Yeah, looks like I've been ordered to do so until the baby is born! Nothing too serious, I was just having mild contractions for a day or two because of stress. Doc. says I need to make it to at least week 30 before they can consider delivering early if needed. Do any of you have suggestions on activities to do while on best rest, other than spend more time here on YT? lol Thanks! |

| I have never been on bedrest either but I do want to say, make sure you do it! My nephew was the size of my hand when he was born because his momma didn't listen to her doctor. Make yourself comfy on the couch and enlist some friends to help you out. Take care! |

| Sorry but it could be worse. Enjoy the rest and post on YT or read. Just stay in bed and do as your told to keep you both safe. My daughter went through hell for 9mos throwing up, in and out of the hosp, hooked up to IV for 2mos and in bed and lost 22 lbs the first 4mos. She gets a disease called Hyper Immesis something. This was the second pregnacy and it was worse the second time. Baby Isabella arrived safe and sound but the 9mos to get her here was very difficult. She was also an invetro baby. So when the going gets tough just think of someone who had it worse. Just take care of yourself and that little one. Good luck to you and keep us posted. Carol & Buddy |

| Do you do anything crafty? Like sewing or painting? You could work on your baby shower registry! I would read all the dog training books piling up on my book shelf, watch Judge Judy and Animal Planet, download recipes from food network, watch an entire series on DVD (try Netflix or iTunes or a friend with a good collection), watch movies, listen to podcasts and eat ice cream.

I'm staying w/ my folks for now since the rest of my stuff is actually still in Arizona. A friend of mine already started my registry at Babies R Us. She's so sweet, she's in Monterey, California w/ a wee one of her own and she was so nice to suprise me w/ that. I had/have A LOT of things to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving and holiday season! |

| I was ordered to bedrest at 12wks in my first pregnancy. It is long and boring after a while. I read alot and watched t.v. (It was before I had a computer.) I also learned to cross stitch and embordery. (I tried crocete but never quite understood it.LOL) It is important that you eat right while you are on bed rest. Since you have less activity it is easier to gain the weight. Good luck!

| I was on bedrest for 2 months because of my Hyperemesis. I just watched tv, read, played with my family while in bed, people came over to help... do anything you like but do it in bed. I listened, wasn't going to risk it. I wish you the best! Take care of yourself!

| My sister was ordered on bed rest at 4 months. She went into labor, luckily they got it to stop.. She was on complete bed rest and the only thing she was aloud to do was get up to use the bathroom. At the time I was still in high school so she moved back home and I was her entertainment..... |

| [QUOTE=yorkieK9trainer]Help, guys! Anyone here ever have to go on bed rest? QUOTE] I was on bedrest the last month of my first pregnancy. I crocheted like crazy. First son had more baby blankets than the law allows. It was pre-home PC days so I read books, did crossword puzzles and watched TV. But stand by because daytime TV is horrible -- bless TIVO!! If I am going to watch during the day now, I just pop up some program that I have recorded. It is also a great time to do an online or home study course of some kind. Maybe learn another language, knock out a credit to two towards a degree, or a just for fun course. Of course you can also get a ton of baby books from the library. Hopefully a friend or family member can help with the pick up and return. Maybe find a free website hosting site and build a web page or two. I have been housebound for a little over a week now from foot surgery. I have not done any of those constructive things but.... I have spent a LOT of time here on Yorkietalk, learning tons and sharing some laughs. Good luck to you -- it will pass quicker than you think and be so worth it when you have that little one in your arms!

| I was on be rest the last two Months of my pregnancy because of high blood pressure. I cross stitched, watched Tv, played on the computer, did crossword puzzles and read. Take care of your self and the bay. It will all be worth it when you have that baby girl. Mine was a girl too. Girls are so much fun and truly a blessing

| My daughter had two pregnancies that put her to bedrest. Not fun! SHe would do scrapbookking, reading and of course internet surfing. I would try to think of something special once in a while for her, but it is hard to fill the time. She delivered beautiful, healthy, but tiny babies, who are now 5 years and 23 months. So whatever you do to fill the time, know that you are doing the best for your baby. Good luck and rest well!! |
