| Dirty Santa??? Okay, so this year, my family decided to just buy gifts for the kids......as us grown ups don't really need anything and it gets harder and harder to buy for each other....well, okay, the kids don't need anything either for that matter! HA! Anyway, the guys came up w/ the idea of dirty santa - I have called it numerous names (chinese Christmas, etc). Okay, there are five guys and five girls......even number, which is great! So, should we have the guys do guy gifts and us gals do ours? And, how is it exactly played? I remember you draw numbers and go pick a gift and if someone else wants it, they can have it (up to so many times) and then the original person can pick another...and so on. So, my question, with only five in each group....how many times is fair? AND are there any other ways to play......... One more......what is a great gift spending limit for family and what are great gifts for each (guys and gals)? Any ideas, thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated. We plan on discussing it over Thanksgiving........yay!

The cost is No more then 20.00 AND WHO ever brings the COOLES gift that is the cheapest...gets like a gift card or some little something.. They all bring a gift that can be used by a girl or guy... and they each get a # and they put it in a hat. when your # is called you get to pick a"box" and open it... Then a nother # is picked and if the 2nd person liked the 1st gift, they can take it or pick a box to open. If they take the 1 st persons gift.. that person has to open a different box. and that keeps going till you get to the last person. | |

| I don't know Dirty Santa. But Our family used to play a game too with the adults. Until a lot of the gifts started being joke gifts, like beans and toilet paper. The ones that bought nice gifts got fed up so now it's all joke gifts and we try to see who can get the funniest. |

| We play this EVERY year on Christmas Eve, it’s so much fun. Numbers are drawn; the person who has #1 picks first out of the girl or boy’s gifts, and then #2 can either pick out of the pile, or take #1’s gift. However, person #2 has to say PLEASE and after she has the gift, THANK YOU or they can’t take #1’s gift. #3 can pick out from the pile or steal one of the other two gifts before her turn and so on. We normally make a girl and a boy pile. It gets fun when someone steals someone else’s gift and they forget to say please and thank you, then they have to pick out of the pile. Oh, and the person’s whose gift was stolen can either pick from the pile or steal someone else’s. You want to draw a high number in this game, and then you would have the pick of all the gifts already opened. We don’t do the gift card thingy. I think this would only work if all the kids were around the same age. As for a spending limit, I would say that’s up to your family to decide. We do it with family and it is a BLAST!

| This game is insane! We played it @ work each year and it was soooo much fun! Many times, the 'greedy' person who takes opened gifts ended with something less cute..........lol The spending limit was 25.00

| Thanks everyone! The kids will get presents as usual, so it will be us "adults" who do the game. I think we might do the two "piles" (guys/gals). I don't know what are limit will be though.....it sounds fun. I like the "please/thank you"...that's a good idea! Thanks again!
