We play this EVERY year on Christmas Eve, it’s so much fun. Numbers are drawn; the person who has #1 picks first out of the girl or boy’s gifts, and then #2 can either pick out of the pile, or take #1’s gift. However, person #2 has to say PLEASE and after she has the gift, THANK YOU or they can’t take #1’s gift. #3 can pick out from the pile or steal one of the other two gifts before her turn and so on. We normally make a girl and a boy pile. It gets fun when someone steals someone else’s gift and they forget to say please and thank you, then they have to pick out of the pile. Oh, and the person’s whose gift was stolen can either pick from the pile or steal someone else’s. You want to draw a high number in this game, and then you would have the pick of all the gifts already opened. We don’t do the gift card thingy. I think this would only work if all the kids were around the same age. As for a spending limit, I would say that’s up to your family to decide. We do it with family and it is a BLAST!
